Travel Capsule for 5 Weeks - YouLookFab Forum

In a few days Mr Style Fan, Sophie and I will be heading to Montreal for five weeks. We do this every year for an urban break. My travel capsule is very similar to last year (I even wondered if I should post about it) except I have made some small changes. I have decided to try and wear pieces from my wardrobe that were neglected because of my change in lifestyle. These are small changes because I still have to stay warm and be able to do my regular activities. Unfortunately, I haven`t added finds for my neglected items.

I have shown some of the jewellery that I plan to take. I am still debating which pieces will be in the capsule. I have a few rings that are neglected that I might bring.

I have a handbag that I am bringing from the 80s. I have been rejuvenating it with leather cream (Fryes). Great results!! The handbag is cognac and is a slouchy hobo style.

I am also taking lots of Yoga gear which I have not posted.

What I am looking for in Montreal

I am hoping to buy a pair of boots. I saw a pair in the summer and regret not buying them.

Thanks for posting this Style Fan. I find it so helpful to see how people think and plan when they pack for travel. It looks like you have a very practical, functional wardrobe here. You have practice in preparing, so nothing looks superfluous. The only thing I might say is it has been strangely warm so far this year, and even though we are just now having our first cold snap, I wonder if it still might rain one more time before we settle into snow? Are your down puffers water resistant? I’m about 4 hours drive from Montreal, so the weather here isn’t all that different, especially since it isn’t due north.

Thank you for your feedback Staysfit. We have also been having a warm fall in mid-Ontario. The LL Bean Puffer is waterproof but extremely warm. Perhaps I should bring my Helly Hensen rain jacket. I was considering a raincoat from Lululemon or Lole but have not found the right one.

I'm always interested in long trip travel packing. DH would rather on the road than at home, so we have done quite a few 2-4 week trips with just carryon luggage. Shoes are the hardest.

Yay to rejuvenating your bag. I did the same with a 90's Coach that I'm really enjoying now.

Karen13 we only do road trips right now because of Sophie. She comes with me. Mr Style Fan does some solo trips. I agree shoes are the hardest. My feet are so problematic.
Thank you, Barbara Diane. I realized I was 'saving' most of my wardrobe for something that was never going to happen. Time to start wearing it. At least the pieces that I can.

You are right Sterling. I have not added all my jewellery to Finds. A slow process (for me at least). Since I stopped working I have not been wearing my jewellery. I am trying to change that and start wearing it.

Thanks, Angie! Sophie is definitely coming with us. She has new boots and socks for the trip. She had some surgery a few weeks ago but is all better now. I am very thankful for that.

I also thought of a less than 30X35 capsule but I counted everything. I hope you find the boots from last summer on deep discount now.

Joy I am still editing so I may end up with a smaller capsule. Mr Style Fan does not want to take the rooftop box if possible. Parking reasons. The boots were Birkenstock and are not likely to be discounted. Sob sob. My footwear is pricey.

Bijou, I am hoping the boots will be there too! The store I saw them in only sells Birkenstock and Finn Comfort footwear ( makes I can wear). Montreal is a wonderful city for shopping because I am always discovering something new tucked away on a side street.
