What do you think of this dress?
I need a dress for my vow renewal in Puerto Rico. Main requirements are 1: interesting shape, 2: photographs well, 3: must be able to wear again, not body con. I like how this is a slight variation on my typical shift and I like the tropical vibe. Also love that there will be no body image worries. Thinking it would dress up nicely with nude okalas but also be cute with beach flats. Any thoughts? It's by Maeve, a light crepe.

Ooh! I like it a lot! Will it be cool enough (with the sleeves)? I seem to remember your daughters had chosen colours that are in the dress, right? Or am I getting confused. Anyway, it's really pretty on you. Love that shape.

I love the way it looks on you in #1. I'm not sure about #2, though. How does it feel? Is it kind of stretchy or more floaty?

I'm also a little worried about heat but because it is so floaty feel like it might be okay. I'm having such a head time finding a dress that speaks to me - cannot wear fit and flare, do not want stiff and tailored or glam, OR too hippie. This seems to ride the line. I may get it just in case.

Viva -- that dress is stunning on you! I would only be concerned with fabrication and whether it will be cool enough for a tropical event. Crepe is usually lightweight enough, but would having sleeves be sticky? If not, I say grab it. Looks lovely.

There's something about the print that doesn't strike me as you. But maybe it'd look fabulous styled.

It's true that I don't wear prints often but I do love a pretty print and I have a few in my wardrobe. Vibrant color is the key to making a print work for me, and this dress does have that.

I hope you grab it, you can decide for certain on it later. Do you feel confident in it, from all angles? Since photographing well is important here.

P.S. Maybe it's just me, but occasionally it feels nicer to wear long sleeves in a hot place, because it gives sun protection.

What is fabric? If it is synthetic it may be too warm for Puerto Rico especially with long sleeves.
As for the style it looks interesting and I am sure it looks great in movement.

I bought that dress! So I definitely like it and I rarely choose florals. But I did end up returning it. I needed the petite for the neckline, but then the length seemed too short, especially when I raised my arms.

I would have a bit concern about it being too warm but it does look great on you.

I didn't get it, till thinking. April, maybe a weird question but do you think the HL is pretty enough? I do want to feel pretty not just modern. Do you know what I mean? Yeesh! This is so challenging.

Good idea to think further on the dress. It is very nice:) But somehow I am just not seeing the "you" I see in your usual outfit posts. But then I don't want to box you into a a style if you know what I mean. If you have time I think it would be worth trying some other options for comparison.

This is pretty but for a southern locale, I can't help but think of a lighter color as the base for the dress. But I do have spring on my mind right now.

I love the dress on you. I would have issues about the sleeves on me, but you aren't going to be waving your arms around, or so I suspect. The darker color doesn't bother me at all if the fit is loose and the fabric is airy.

Will the renewal be outside or indoors?

I know how hard it is for an adult woman to find a decent dress these days. You deserve to find one that makes you feel fabulous. It is still early for spring items--do you have time to wait a few weeks to pick one?

LOVE the shape. This is how you do waist surrendering. The cut is perfect. For that reason alone, this belongs in your closet.

But as others have pointed out, not sure it's going to work for Puerto Rico. Suspect you'll get too hot, with longer sleeves + dark colors.

Good question about the HL Quantum Contrast. I think you could pretty it up with choice of shoes, bag, and jewelry.
