Transitioning a dress from Spring to Winter

Anyone have any other ideas of ways to transition a dress from Spring/Summer to cooler weather? I have tried the ole "throw a sweater over it" but am looking for more creative solutions.

You did a great job already. The pattern of the dress lends itself nicely for all seasons, but texture seem to suggest it's more of a warm wearther garment. But, that is just *my* view on things (and what I see, a kind of lightweight fabric).

As a fellow pear may I suggest long waterfall cardigan maybe? I find them very flattering and if you wear one as long or longer than the dress, with the same fab boots and tights I think you might get a nice outcome.
