Tory Burch "Virginia" Ankle Boot

Although I am not always a fan of overt branding and obvious labels, but I have gotten a lot of great wear out of my Tory Burch "Reva" ballet flats. I usually like her shoes and her clothes, but these boots...

Is it just me, or are these somewhat reminiscent of yellow work boots? When I was a teenager these were popular, and now I have no idea why. I am missing the reason why she would make these shoes with that awful sole!

What do you guys think? I always find it interesting to hear people's POV's and learn more about their styles.

Yes, these do look like the work boots (Timberlands, I think?) that were popular when I was a teenager as well. I actually don't mind the boots above, but I don't mind clunky shoes. I also have a sporty streak so I have to watch myself sometimes

I can see wearing those with bootcuts and a turtleneck with a hip-length jacket that ties at the waist and a really great bag.

If I could wear a heel that high I would wear these! I like how she's taken a work boot theme and revamped it with a such a high heel. I like the balance. But then again, I like work boots...really. The first time I saw Blundstones

was at the Sydney airport (16 years ago)...worn on a woman with long bare legs and a dress...I said "I gotta get me some of those" and I did and loved them, though they were always just a tad small and had to wear them barefoot...so eventually I gifted them. Now you can find them every where.

And now, with heels too

Different folks, different styles, I guess.

i was so excited when i saw the post - i love the tory burch style, although none of her items are ever in my budget. but then i opened the link...

definitely not what id consider a classic tory burch shoe. they might look better with pants, but not really my style. i don't think i could pull off the heels for much longer than a couple hours.

Shell, I am so sorry to disappoint!! I would suggest going into the store and figuring out your size in the different styles and then hunt for bargains. They are out there. Perhaps not in the most recent colors, but there will always be basics out there.

Thanks for the responses - so interesting to me. Dani, you gave me an image that I think I might have needed to figure out how to wear these. Just wait - I see them and have to try them on and love them!
