Toronto backyard wedding

I've been invited to a backyard wedding in Toronto in June (I'm from the UK) and have no idea what to wear. I have this dress which i really love but am wondering if it's too formal

Can anybody suggest a way to style it to make it a bit more casual, or am i just going to have to buy another less formal dress.

I really like the dress as Angie suggested dress it down with less formal shoes flats or wedges if you like a heel and you could have a very lightweight cover up shrug/cropped cardi if you needed it.

Dress is great. Accessories can be fun- maybe a bright flowered print shawl or purse ........ but most importantly- flats or wedge because heels and lawn don’t mix.

I find in Toronto wedding attire is a really mixed bag ... You get more formal to more casual at all sorts of venues. I think this will be perfect! What about nude pumps? June weather is notoriously unreliable in terms in temperature, so you may wish to have some sort of topper available in case it decides to be cool that day. Enjoy it!

Flat sandals, a big strawflower "corsage", and/or summery jewelry - light beads, shells, etc. I love the dress - and don't worry about being too dressed up. Most hosts and brides love their guests to dress up and affirm the specialness of the day.

June in Toronto -- the weather could be anything! The date will matter -- later in the month is more likely to be warmer. But you'll have to watch the weather reports because it could be anything at all.

If it's in a back yard, try to find out if there are patio stones or grass. That will determine footwear (heel or flats/ wedges). Also, you will need a topper available in case the evening is cool or buggy. But the dress is lovely in itself and a perfect foil for whatever accessories you decide to add.
