I’m sitting at the university veterinary emergency room. My poor little man has a bladder stone blockage.
They will try flushing the stone back into the bladder but one way or the other he will need surgery which would cost $4-5000 here.
If they are successful flushing it back into the bladder it could still drop back down and block him again.
If the flush is successful I could take him home and my vet could do surgery to remove the stones. The other option is to have another procedure where they create a new opening for the urine flow - which my vet does not do.
My husband doesn’t want to spend that kind of money on a dog that already has pug dog myelopathy but he’ll go along with me if I decide to have the surgery done. I’m just not ready to part with him yet but still......
I’m rambling. I’m so sad.
