In a thread a few weeks ago, these floral booties came to my attention, and I decided to order them to try out. So far, this is the only fall/winter footwear I have purchased for the upcoming season. By and large, I am pretty happy with what I have from years past, although I would consider adding one or two pairs of boots or booties to update and refresh.
I really like the muted floral color scheme (goes well with my wardrobe), the fabric, the low heel and pointy toes. They are just a little big on me (only an 8.5 was available and I normally take an 8), but socks and an insole should solve the issue quite easily. They are not the absolute most comfortable things I've ever put on my feet, but I think they would break in a bit and suffice for a day when I'm not walking five miles. They're definitely best for a narrow-ish or low-volume foot. They are slipping off my heels a bit, so I really need to add the insole and wear around the house to see if they will work.
As you can see, the colors are a little less vibrant than the stock photo, and the velvet has a sheen to it. The pattern is random so it looks quite different in each foot. That doesn't bother me, but it might bother others. The opening of the bootie at the ankle is a little wide, but I anticipate wearing these with jeans rolled to just show the tops of the boots, so the flower pot effect does not bother me.
I showed them to hubs and he likes them well enough. What do you think? If they pass the comfort wear-around-the-house test, are they worth a precious space in my closet? Or do you have other recommendations? I have done zero shopping since Seattle and haven't been paying much attention to what's out there, so feel free to suggest something that I may have missed but fits my style.
Thanks in advance!
