Topshop boots and practicing PPP - suggestions?

Well, I guess my search for low-heeled black booties with *just* the right touch of rocker embellishment continues...

I ordered these from Topshop (never tried anything from them before) and I love how they look, but they are stiff, and they slip off my heels, even with insoles in them. I have kept some shoes in the past that had similar issues, thinking they'd just ease up with wear, but I'm not willing to chance it for $190 booties.

The quality seems OK, but not really worth the price, IMHO. The stiffness of the leather puts me off just a bit, and there is a bit of a puckering starting to form in the leather on the top of the bootie, even though I've barely worn them around the house.

Back to the drawing board. This is pair #3 I've tried. I have a few on my Pinterest board, but unfortunately a lot of them are pricey, or not available anymore. http://pinterest.com/jjeffers/my-style/

I have the chunky boot territory covered pretty well. I'm really looking for something a little less RATE and a little more refined, ankle-height like a chelsea boot, and a clean line, maybe even a slightly pointed toe. I'd love to find some with that silver-accented toe. I tried a pair of Enrica cap-toe style (silver leather caps on a black bootie) but they a) were not terribly comfortable, and b) seemed to make my feet look big when worn with skinnies, and I've never had an issue with feeling like my feet look big, so it must have been bad!

Nancy, thanks for those! Yep, those two -- the Asos and the Enricas -- are the ones I tried but the fit was off. I don't know what is up with that! I don't have particularly fussy feet, but I am being really picky about this black bootie search. I expect I'd wear them a lot, for years to come, so I want them to be comfortable right off the bat.

The Sigerson Morrisons are cool, but they look a bit more trendy, perhaps? I'd be worried those might date quicker with the full toe cap. And I'm also a little worried that bright shiny cap with be a scuff magnet. I'm tough on the toes of my shoes (I am the queen of stubbing my foot on the lovely uneven Baltimore sidewalks!).

I've been looking for similar boots for a while.... I had the most amazing low black pair in the 80s with a small silver inset of mesh on the sides and silver caps on the toes....I wish I still had them!

Janet, have you look into the Acne pistol? I have been on a similar search, for a "forever" black bootie and those are gorgeous IRL. I am in the process of going back and forth with size. They run big. The quality is to die for. I have never, never seen a bootie so beautifully crafted. Give them a shot.

and ditto on JC shoes. Lil' Zap is a big customer and I have borrowed her shoes from time to time. They are gorgeous and have plenty of style.
