Oh, and I find that a short necklace with (not too small) white pearls always adds polish and looks deliciously cool in hot summer.

Because my role at this meeting was community liaison (helper-person) it felt more important to appear approachable than authoritative. I know my outfit skewed casual. Hopefully it wasn't too.

Years ago when I worked in an an office I'd have had more choices. These days my wardrobe and work are super casual (Not a blazer in sight). The meeting on Monday was for volunteer work. I'd have liked to have felt a teensy more dressed.

Other occasions I struggle to dress for are civic meetings, funerals, etc, things that happen occasionally where professional clothes are appropriate.

I love my NIc and Zoe lightweight cardigans. They're so delicate that they don't make me hot, but at the same time they add an extra level of polish to an outfit when I need it. They are slightly sheer, which adds more interest than a regular cardi.

Hi Greenjeans - I opened a post this am on the cinq a sept khloe blazer. It comes in many colors. Very light material w pretty ruched buttoned sleeves. I bought the black and just ordered the shadow. Some colors 50% off. Don’t know if that’s the style you want but I’ve been desperate for some summer weight toppers. Worth a look.

FWIW, this white linen jacket just arrived . . . it ticks a lot of boxes! I think I may love it though the ivory/white color is slightly outside my comfort zone.
