Chanel 'Lady Jackets' are having a moment. I have one similar (not Chanel mind you :)) and may just 'dust if off'! Your cropped linen jacket is perfect. It is quite neutral to my eye. I think I have admired it before...

I have a bomber and find it a bit too masculine with the masculine jeans I tend to wear. I will hang onto it but would not buy another.

Carla, was that your Zara bomber, that we twinned with? Mine is still going strong but I don’t wear it frequently (I love it when I do though!). What a great jacket that was! Something with that vibe could be fun again. Yesterday was chilly here but I wore my big reversible bomber that I got in Paris two years ago (from a small pop-up that makes the jackets from old kimonos and remnants).

Confession: I may have picked up this cute one yesterday at Anthro while I was out killing time waiting for an appointment. I need to do a jacket edit because I’m not wearing some of my old ones. This is a nice update in silhouette, and the navy looks really good with denim.

That is cute JANET. Is it a cropped trench?

This time of year is sooo hard to dress for!
I put away my very heavy puffer, wool coat, and black leather jacket for the season a couple weeks ago.

Still out are thin black puffer, longer black trench, new olive hooded raincoat, PC sweater coat, burgundy velour hoodie, bronze jean style jacket, black blazer, black cardigan, and new black Tek vest. I've been low key hunting a lighter color topper of some sort, since all but the new olive one are so dark.
Re: cool summer nights- not a thing here. It's usually still 80+ at night in summer.

I'd think your jean jacket and tan puffer would be perfect for this time of year, but I understand about the shapes.

Star, it is! Almost a swing silhouette. Quite generously sized — a small for me with room to spare.

It seems to me that shorter jackets are trending. I like to browse Nordstrom and everything is cropped.

My favorite lighter weight jacket is a utility jacket. I love the length. I have several, including a Kuhl charcoal one from Poshmark that has a quilted lining. The unlined ones work with a light insulated vest. I think Patagonia Nanopuff vests are kind of sleek, not boxy. I do take them on our biding trips, but they’re nice for everyday, too. I’ve even started wearing them as part of my dressy outfit. My version of dressy includes jeans, of course.

I also have a shorter linen jacket from Macy’s that seems dressier than a jean jacket. Mine is navy, not white, but it was great on our trip to Arkansas last summer where the AC was ferocious.

I have a difficult time with these temps too. I wear vests and have 3 or 4 of them. I find them useful in the winter too in the super cold temps as an extra layer. I've lost a couple and replaced one, but have to replace the navy. I have vests in plaid, silver, black and burgandy. They are thin, have pockets and easy to throw in a bag if it gets too warm, but that doesn't happen often because my arms are not covered. These colours coordinate with most of my casual wardrobe and along with a cute scarf, seem to do the trick!

Honestly I love that leopard and denim combination so much, and it is so YOU! I have those pieces, and I screen shot the combo. I need a bigger brooch! I have smaller ones - you know, from the 80's or 90's! - and I suppose I could cluster them, but now I want to go thrifting for a big statement piece! Thanks for the inspo!

Ah, I misunderstood your question. My indoor / outdoor for warmer temps jackets/ toppers at the moment, below:
