Your legs are fab, and your accessories are modern, simple and sleek. If I saw you out and about I wouldn't think a thing about age appropriateness, but I would notice how wonderful you look!
How did you feel in the dress? I've passed on a couple of things because I doubted myself the whole time I was wearing them. I think we're just coming out of an era of empire waists, and this style tends to skew young -- perhaps that's why you posted the question. I think you don't need to give up shorter skirts, at least for evening, but, as you add new dresses to your wardrobe, you might play with a different silhouette.
If this were my dress, I would love the dramatic color and print. It would, you know, rework easily into a lovely skirt, if you're still unsure of wearing it as is!
