Too thin?

I'm starting to poke around for some fresh spring pieces. And when I say fresh, I mean -- an interesting line, something a bit unexpected. Not fresh color as I am a lover of all things black (and neutral). My question. I have seen so many really thin T-shirts. And this piece looks ultra thin too. Anyone have experience with these thin T's?

AM, love that tee, Yeah it's pretty thin. If I were a little less squishy in the middle, I'd wear it with the one strap Helmut bra. Can you tell me who makes the tee.

When fabrics this weight and sheerness came out, they were advertised as "layering ts". But you are right that I've seen many more items made with that material now that do not lend themselves to layering. And the worst part is that sometimes materials like this can look fine in the bedroom mirror and become transparent while in sunlight. Personally, I would not buy something made of that sheer a material unless I definitely had the option to return it. That way I could try it on at home in various lighting to decide if it would work for me or not.

Depends on a couple of things
- Are you happy to have a bit of show through either from jeans or bra?
- Or are you happy to layer under or over?

I think it also depends on your shape - I don't mind a small amount of peek a boo but I need to get the bottom half perfectly fitting otherwise muffin top can peek though.

shedev: This shirt is only available in XXS so it isn't even an option for me but I do like the idea it with the Helmut bra. Nice thinking!

AM, I recently purchased a tunic top in a very thin but soft and beautiful jersey. (#1) For me, it was obvious that I would actually layer under it. Rick Owens has been doing this sheer look in jersey tops for a while now in his Lilies range. It lends it self beautifully to something like the HL bra top underneath as Echo suggested. Depends how much you are comfortable revealing. I personally like full coverage

I like full coverage too. I tend not to wear the things I have that are even slightly revealing, so I've decided to just not buy them anymore.
