Too Oversized?

Hi Fabbers,

Tried this on today after seeing it on line. This is a size above what I would normally try but the size down is sold out. It's a "coatigan" with faux leather sleeves and trim. I quite liked it but was unsure if it was too big.

Pics are not great but would appreciate your opinions. It could be a nice casual piece for the winter.

#3 is the catalogue pic but I don't like this fit for me ... I do prefer this type of cardi to have more front coverage

Thanks Debra:). The jacket is on sale at Katies. I liked it. The "pleather" is obviously pleather but it doesn't look too bad:). Plenty of room to layer under it and it felt good. I just know I have a high tolerance for oversized and can go a bit far if not careful. Might pop back tomorrow:)

Shoes are Diana Ferrari and I love them. Bought them maybe 12 months ago and have only started wearing them. I was hesitant because they have a square toe which I know is not "on trend" but I love square toed footwear so I'm wearing them anyway:)

Deborah - I don't think the coat looks too oversized. There is absolutely nothing worse than a too tight coat. I did that with an expensive coat and I am still kicking myself (bought in high summer and thought I was layering enough but obviously not). So better roomy than snug. I think it's very flattering. Love the mixed media and shape!! Love!

Ooooh- love the style! The length is great, too! It appears slightly too generous under the arms for me, but perhaps that is a personal preference? Is the smaller size available at a different (and convenient!) location for comparison?

I don't think it looks too oversized either, from what I can see in the pics. How does it feel? I bet the size will be great for layering in cool weather. Looks like you have the sleeves a little scrunched, is the sleeve length OK with you? I really like it -- I'm not much of a cardigan person, but this is really very cool with the mixed media. Very you!

I think it looks great. To my eye, the coat looks drapey in a strict way rather than too big. It certainly doesn't look like it is swallowing you up, which I think is the main concern with loose, drapey oversized pieces.

Definitely Elegant Eclectic. I'm no good at fit and proportion but I think that anyone who knows you will think it is deliberate. I like the texture of the pleather in your black on black outfit.

I think it looks gorgeous! Not too oversized from what I can tell. Just oversized enough. I love it paired this way with a slim skirt and the shoes. Fabulous.
