Too matchy matchy? - YouLookFab Forum

Sorry for horrible pic because I no longer have my daughter to photograph, and hubby already left for work. Is it too matchy matchy to wear strappy snake-skin print heels with a snake-skin print belt? The snake prints are similar in tone and color (blueish shades), as well as hardware (gold).

The rest of the outfit I am wearing, since pic is hard to see: Sleeveless silk black cowlneck blouse, tucked into high waisted pencil skirt in a light grayish/taupe. With necklace which is cascade of pearls on gold strands. And white bag (of course).

I don't normally wear belts but I met with such success with the leopard belt worn with the hot pink skirt, I'm expanding out of my comfort zone. This animal print belt is skinnier. I do think the outfit would look better with a pop of color for the belt (even pink!) but I don't own any like that. I only have boring black, animal print and leopard.

P.s. yes that is an unmade bed!

This is the perfect amount of match. I figured out from watching gok, that he gives his makeovers always a set of shoes that match a belt, and sometimes a scarf also. And then he shows them dressing up a dress or something. So this is on my to do list.

I like this! I just read in InStyle that gold and black combos are really in right now, and I was intrigued. Their suggestion was to do ONLY black and gold, but that seems a bit OTT. This is a nice light version of the look they showed.

I like it too! I love that belt on you.

I recommend taking pictures without flash if possible. That is possibly a better solution, especially when you shoot into the mirror:)

Was going to vote, but I couldn't figure out if it would be "yay" (I like it) or "nay" (not to matchy-matchy). Looks great. Love those sandals on you, and they look fantastic with the skirt and belt.

I like it, partly because the width of the belt seems to echo the width of the sandals' straps - proportionately, I mean. Those are GREAT sandals!!

Shiny, I love it! Not too matchy-matchy at all. My photographer just went off to college, so all my photos will probably be taken balancing on the tub from now on. My husband still has not mastered the skills of YLF picture taking.

Suz, these shoes are Via Spiga. Believe it or not, I wore these on a trade show floor, standing, all day long... and then out to dinner, walking a mile and back on cobblestones. No blisters, no pain. 3 inch heel! They are like miracle shoes or something. There's no padding either. I don't know what it is, except the last must be just the perfect shape for my foot.
