Too many trends on one item or funky fun?

I'm drawn to a pair of zipper moto jeans. . . that happen to be red! Is this just too much for mere mortals like me, and should be left to trendier gals like Anna? Or can I pull it off? These are not the exact ones but pretty darn close. (mine are cheaper of course!) LOVE the details, but not crazy about the length. If you are comfortable with the cropped length, I say go for it!

I was this close -> <- to getting a pair this fall but decided I had enough denim.Kinda regretting it now.

Mo, I think you could absolutely pull these off! I see a lot of cool in your style, and these would definitely be called cool. I think with your long legs you can pull off the length.

I just ordered a pair of black moto denim jeans with zipper. Except mine are 31 inches. I think 27 inches is a little short. I think you should hold out for a longer inseam.

Which may be difficult in you want red.

Hi Mo, these are real statement pants, but hey, if the fit, proportion/length are right, why not wear something that makes you feel fabulous?
If you fear that they might look OTT, add an absolutely plain top and bag, and keep jewellery in moderation.
BTW, black is an obvious colour to pair with re pants, but I see a lot of celebs pairing it with caramel/ beige /cream/brown. With your colouring, I think you could definitely carry off that combination as an alternative. e.g.

I like it. I'm on a Team Red Pants this spring too, but mine are more classic. When you decide that zippers and seams is too much, just put really high boots on, that's it.

oooooo! zippers! The details on these pants are awesome....and did you see the front zipper cover?! You would turn some heads in these pants (that would be a good turn of the head). I'm going to let others help you with the length because I still have no clue about that.

I love these pants and if I had unlimited funds - why not? I just have a feeling that all these details on one pair of pants is going to date them fast. Like you are not going to want to wear something this trendy forever and if you are spending real money on a pair of pants you want to wear them for more than one season. I know the prevailing philosophy on YLF is to hold out for the perfect quality piece. For something this trendy, I would probably buy a cheaper version to have some fun for a year or two, knowing that this style is not going to be around forever.

Thanks for the input! I found a pair at $60 but it actually has 2 MORE zippers on the legs where cargo pockets would normally be - yikes. But, I love, and have been wearing, zippers for many years before it came on trend. I wonder most about the 27". My true inseam for flats is about 30" so it may be that weird, not cropped enough, not long enough length. I'll have to think on that a bit . . . but I am so sorely tempted that it makes me think I'll regret it if I don't go buy them.

I think you can do it!! They look sporty-chic, and I think I've seen you successfully wear crops before (correct me if I'm wrong). As with most things, you never know until you try!

I vote yay but with a caveat. I think they'll look better with heels. Not sure with your ankle if that will work.

Very good point about the length, Anna and Jonesy. As a test run, I rolled my other zipper, seamed skinnies to 27". It is ankle length on me, as opposed to crop. But I think it would look fine with some heels. I can't stay laid up forever! Maybe for baby steps I could wear my 2 1/2" black sandals first (pic 2)? How I'd love to be able to throw on either of my pairs of 4 1/2" platforms!

I have a similar pair but in with with gold zippers!
That lenght is to be worn with heels!!!

Oh these are gorgeous! That's more what I was looking for. I bought a pair at Zara but they weren't cropped like the ones you posted. I prefer them cropped so I returned them.
You can check out my pictures of when I tried them on at home before returning them. I don't think you necessarily need to wear them with heels. I think with cute ballerina slippers with maybe a leopard print would look great too.
