Too hot for my Bad Boyfriend!

It had to happen, didn’t it? London is basking in an unexpected heat wave, laying waste to my outfit plans. My stellar vintage ‘80s blazer will be far too warm for this weather, so I am reverting to a hastily formulated Plan B for tomorrow’s assembly of the Class of ’86.

Fortunately, on the agenda for this weekend was a couple of hours in London’s recently refurbished Uniqlo flagship store, so I’ve grabbed the Lemaire gaucho pants I was stalking (on sale for a tenner) as well as the button-down shirt and an AIRism draped tee.

I now have a couple of different options, less impressive than the last ones, but I can’t feel fab if I’m all hot and sweaty. So now I’ll be wearing the gaucho pants and Trippen booties with…

Minimalist black button down shirt, statement necklace (borrowed from my mother), no jacket. Lacks embellishment but plenty of mystique.

“Own Brand” sparkly bomber (designed by me) over the draped tee. Has the added advantage of representing my nascent career in ethical fashion design, as well as the awkward prospect of ‘fessing up to my parents about the tattoo.

Also thinking of carrying the ’80’s mix tape bag even though it’s not quite right with the shirt and FTMGO with the jacket.

What do you guys think? Halp!

I missed the first plan, but I gotta go with option 2 -- you need to represent with that sparkly bomber! Gah, those boots are awesome. And yes, you must use that bag with the outfit, it's too perfect for the occasion.

I missed the first post too - I'm not great at sorting through options - ha. Sparkly bomber over a draped t seems like a good layering plan to me - and I don't see the mixed tape bag as having too much going on - I mean, the whole look is a lot going on ! Go for it:)

Will you be too hot in the bomber? I would go with the one that will be most comfortable for the weather as I think they are both great. Definitely use the bag - it's so perfect!

Yes the world is upside down. It's 50 degrees here, normally it's already Summer weather this time of year in California.

You have a distinctive style and never miss a step. I like your idea here, I would bring along the bomber because you MUST show it off! The jacket, shoes and bag are all conversation starters and no they are not too much together, because of the neutral color palette.

The weather is crazy isn't it? So humid today...although the forecast said possible thundery showers tomorrow. So typical of the UK...two hot days and a thunderstorm tends to be the sum of our Summers!

That outfit is fabulous. I did like the outfit in the other post but also think this is a good alternative in hotter weather. The sparkly jacket and shoes look great with those pants. I also really like the bag. ...where do you find these things? ? Never see anything as cool when I go shopping. They may not notice the tattoo. I had to look for it.

Thanks for endorsing my fall-back plan. I think the bomber will be fine in the hot weather because unlike the blazer it can be folded and stuffed in a tote.

DianeG, ain't that the truth. London is very confused by that big yellow shiny thing that appeared in the sky yesterday. It looks so familiar but nobody can remember when they last saw it.

aw Angie! thanks for posting that pic of us all in our white shoes! As if there wasn't already FTMGO I'll probably add the necklace I bought on that shopping trip. It does a lot to elevate the black.

goldenpig et al, the bag was a gift from my awesome sister, no idea where it came from. She's very good at finding the coolest accessories.
