I spontaneously tried on this jacket at J Crew yesterday when picking up some classic trousers. (Hooray for J Crew--tan season-less wool trousers that don't create cellulite where you don't have any!). But back to the jacket. I love the military vibe of it and thought the brass buttons put some real fun into it. When I took it home, DH, usually very supportive, just commented "It's really gold, isn't it?" I looked again and suddenly it seemed very gold. Very flashy. Since the buttons and zipper are brass, I'm pretty sure that color will get knocked back as I wear it. Still, his comment is haunting me. What do you think? Too blingy? The jacket is a very nice waxed canvas with buttons on the side to adjust the shape. It fits great.
Updated to add it in moss green, which I think is more representative. I think they highlighted the edges on cuff and placket of the black jacket oddly in the picture--they aren't that visible in real life.
