I went into Nordstroms this week to return some things I bought online that didn't work out. These jeans came home with me -- NYDJ "Marnie". They have an unfinished hem and came cuffed at this length ... but I am wondering if it is too short for me. What do you think -- should I let it down a bit? My husband gave it a major side-eye when I wore them yesterday, but he hates cropped pants in general.

This length is new to me, and I'm not sure what I'll do with it when the weather drops. I need to spend some "quality" time in my closet exploring options.

Hmmmm....I'm not sure how I feel about them. How are they unrolled? If my cropped pants are going to have a roll I like to be able to wear them both rolled and unrolled, although I almost always choose rolled. Can you bring the cuff down a bit? It looks rather thick, so maybe it has some wiggle room.

The cuffs are sewn in place -- quite thoroughly, actually -- but it's nothing that I can't undo with a seam ripper. Then I will have options ... options are good! I'll give this a try over the weekend.

I think that they look good, but I am with Traci, in that I may make the cuff a little narrower. I would also be wary about letting them down because sometimes the fold seam can still be seen. Having said that i have seen jeans with a fold seam visible on the forum and so I should think that even if it shows, then it will be good!

I like this length a lot -- it looks like the length I wear my jeans when they are rolled/cuffed.

These look just right to my eye. But keep in mind I'm not an expert here, I struggle with PPL all the time. Angie says crops should be 2-4" above the ankle bone. I have varying lengths because I think certain cropped pants/jeans look better at different lengths because of the cut.

I hear you on whether these will work in reslly cold winter-- though there are bootie styles that would help( warmth- wise), but for the ankle- baring, footwear- showcasing look I think these are spot- on for length and fit, so if these work with your style and dress code, I think they are great.

Thanks everyone! This is a new length for me -- I guess my eye is still adjusting. I'll enjoy them as-is for a while -- I can always adjust in the future as styles and whims change. I'll look for Angie's post on footwear and cropped pants -- I think I saw it at the time but I need to revisit with these pants in mind. My boots are of the clunky rather than ladylike variety, but I imagine there are combos that can work.

I like them too, just as they are! I think keeping them like this for a while is a good idea. You can always use the seam ripper later on...

FWIW, I could see these working with stompy, chunky boots -- I don't think you need a dainty boot for cropped jeans, as long as you balance the weight with a suitable top/jacket.
