Too Big?

I received the NYCo wrap top today. I ordered XL because it looked clingy on the model..but I think it might be a little too big. I'm not sure this top is working for me. Here's 2 photos...one solo, and one w/ a cardi, which is how I'd wear it in my air conditioned office. I would probably wear it by itself or with a cami at night or out running errands or hanging with friends:

Wow! Super geometric print and fantastic silhouette on you. Love it! (you look fab in sleeveless).

Nicole, would you mind doing me a favour? Could you tuck under a bit of the sleeve at your shoulder so that it’s more “cut away” at the shoulder bone? See if that looks better. I think that’s the only place where the top looks a little big. It looks tailored everywhere else. Welted tops aren’t suppose to be as tight. You look streamlined and comfortable to me.

Ah, I see you have cut away more of the sleeve in another photo. That looks even better. It’s look great with the cami and cardi too. Does it feel too big?

I thought the same thing about the shoulder strap being too wide. I tried folding it under a little bit to se if it helped. I think the arm holes are little big, and the waist is definately loose. I like it as an under layer, but I was hoping to wear it alone too. But I think it'll look better if I actually button the cardi. I'm not going to want to wear cardis in the summer, except at work. I love the print and the fabric--it's very soft.

I wish there was a NY & Co close enough that I could have tried the L and the XL to compare. I could try to order the shirt in the L and then send one back.

Super top, that's a great style on you (but agree regarding the shoulder part looking a bit wide.) That's a very flattering color scheme on you as well. Nice.

Recap: I bought this shirt in XL, I liked it but I thought it might be too big. So I ordered it in a L to compare. It came and I think I prefer the L. What do you all think?

I like the large, it looks like it's more fitted, the XL looked a bit loose around the shoulders.

I totally agree, the large fits much better. You look so good in the top it may give me the courage to try a similar style and hope I can look half as good as you do.

I agree that the first one seemed like there was too much fabric at the shoulders and the second one is great. Looks very good and you look comfortable wearing that style, so I'd say it's a good style for you maybe even in dresses.

Yay! I really LOVE this top--and when I ordered the L, it had actually gone on sale (half price!) I have the XL boxed up and ready to return. I must say, I really like this top and have already worn it (with the black AT skirt that I thougth was a tad too long) with a black cami under and a black cardi over. I got A LOT of compliments that day. I will definitely look for this style more often.

Yes! You rock sleeveless, Nicole. I have no doubt you got loads of compliments when you wore this top with your black skirt. Think of this silhouette with three quarter sleeves for Autumn. It’s a win.
