I am ALWAYS on the side of tone it down, because for some reason show it off on me always seems to garner unwanted attention -- I'd love to wear certain things, but I always go on the cautious side of an outfit, usually to hide the curves. But, more and more I find that looser styles look bad on me and they aren't hiding anything as much as making me look frumpy.
That being said, I got this really cute pencil skirt from Nordy's last week. TOTALLY out of my comfort zone, but as someone who never wears skirts because they never fit the hips + the waist, this long pencil skirt fits like it was made for me - so much so that I'm going to get it in the blue also. I realize I have no idea what to pair it with so that I don't look like the office vixen, but still show off a little shape. I have safe black blazers, but I would love some other top options. The only thing I am terrified of doing is tucking something in because then I'd feel fully exposed. Maybe later I can post a pic in the skirt, but here is a link to the site.
A perfect example of what I do on a daily basis. I know that I need to be in this top it's cute, fitted and accents my shape. I'd wear it in the bedroom and just before heading out the door, I'd talk myself out of it and quickly change into this top, untucked. Typical closet panic. I want to be the type to wear the cute top and not give a flip, only I'm not there and need an in between shirt that's not so out there!
