Today I fell in love and then let go

Today I fell in love with a dress, and tried to forget about it. I got my mom at her office, we went for lunch, then to the doctor, then went to see some stores. I could not forget about the dress, so I took her to the shop. And I tried it on. And it looked so great, like I was going to a tea-party in one of those old novies, and I felt so guilty since I'm TRYING to SYC. And then she said I should get it, and I was to, and asked her which shoes it could go with, turned out none of what I got. So I gladly put it away, happy that I had a good reason to keep my 29€. We went to a shoeshop to see loafers for HER, and she sees this pair of lovely cobalt blue sandals, and says 'see, those would go perfect with that dress'.

Yes, you guessed right. I spent 49€ on another pair of shoes, have an evil mom and feel extremely guilty, and happy, and even guiltier

It's pretty! And would go well with blue sandals. If you don't have a closet full of garden party frocks, this one could be the ONE. Sometimes moms are right.

Gosh, if your own mom is enabling you, you know it's a wise think to consider. Usually moms are telling us we're spending too much money! And you DO realize you ended up buying shoes more expensive than the dress? Now you need (okay, I'll say "need") this dress!

I'm going to support you in not getting that dress, here. I find that sundresses or strapless dresses that go STRAIGHT across the bust like that usually aren't very flattering. I like the fabric, but not the cut, and you'll find an even better dress that goes with those sandals soon.

Emily, good point! It's a pretty dress, and I can tell you it look nice on me -I wasn't sure before trying because of what you stated on your post, I also feared it mighty be too short for a flared skirt but it's not. BUT I'll think about it. Maybe I can find nicer options next month. I had such a nice plan of only spending a certain quanity per month and I'm really not following it right now, which makes me feel kind of bad about myself!

Beautiful dress, something about the cut of it (especially the neckline and pleated bodice over the full skirt) is so deliciously retro --- I know I'd be tempted!
