I've been thinking about this jersey motorcycle jacket for a couple of days. It's pricey for me, since I have no income, but not actually expensive in the grand scheme of things. But I can't seem to decide if I am just trying to talk myself into it because I like it, or if it actually fills a wardrobe hole.

The pros:
It's black, has that motorcycle style that I seem to be obsessed with lately, is hip-length rather than waist-length, and has a small un-fussy collar. Since my style is very casual I think it could work with most of my everyday outfits, which seem to almost always consist of jeans, jeans, and more jeans, but I could see this with some of my more causal dresses and skirts. I see this as primarily outerwear, but because it is made from sweatshirt fabric, it could be worn as a top. Versatile black jackets are a perpetual wardrobe hole for me -- I never seem to be able to find the right jacket and so I make do with a variety of not-quite-right items. And, well, I like it. And it would go with my new boots (see photo #2).

The cons, and my justifications:
As I mentioned, I can't really afford to buy much of anything these days, although I could make it a birthday gift and use my credit card. I already have a lightweight black cotton moto jacket, but it is a bit short to wear with jeans and is more of a spring/summer item. Although I am persistently attracted to "rocker" looks and items, I don't know if I am actually cool enough in real life to pull them off. But I suppose that could be a style goal in itself, really. The knit fabric could also a be a con, if it turns out to be not very sturdy or durable.

So, any thoughts? Should I go for it?
