To buy or not to buy more cardigans?

I just got this cardigan from Land's End on Saturday:

I was already thinking of buying another in the bold sun color, and then I found one in overstocks in the gorgeous iris color.

THEN, I have a code for 20% off and free shipping.

Here's the thing though. I live in AZ. In a few more weeks it's going to be ridiculously hot.

So, here are my questions:

Does it seem worth it to buy this sweater in mulitple colors?
Does it look like it fits me well enough to do this?
Are cardigans something that's fashionable every fall and winter, or was it just kind of a trend this past year?

I have a bit of a 'multiples' problem. When I find something I like, I collect it in multiple colors. Just today I ordered a third pair of shoes in the same style that I already have in two other colors, I like them THAT much.

Bad habit? Or good shopping strategy?

Right. I've been re-thinking my whole mutiple thing because I think it makes it easier to get tired of what I have, but on the other hand, there's been so many times that I've thought, "Man, if I had these shoes in silver, I'd totally wear them with this outfit!". You know?

And I've been searching for cardigans for a while now that fit and seem nice enough, and I know I already like this cardigan.

Decisions, decisions...

Well, I don't think cardigans really go out of style and I can't imagine that happening by next fall and winter. So if you like it, it fits you well and washes well, why not? Put it away and then find a surprise in your closet for next winter!

Do you get cold in Arizona a/c? If so, cardigans are a life saver and just the thing you need for over a sleeveless top or dress.

You bet I do, Angie! During the summer they crank the a/c up so high here I often have to carry a jacket even when it's 115 degrees outside. (Seriously. It gets that hot!)

I completely agree with Angie! As a fellow Arizonan I LOVE cardigans even in the summer because I freeze inside! I get used to 90 or 100, and then inside it's suddenly 60 or 70 and I'm shivering. Cardigans are particularly nice for this because they are thin and don't really wrinkle so rather than carrying one around and looking crazy, I can just shove it in my purse and pull it out when I go back inside. It's harder to do this with a jacket, and while I love pashminas people have given me shit for wearing a scarf in the summer - even though they're freezing while I'm warm and stylish! Anyway, I say go for it!

I'll add a me too for cardis. It's great to have them all year 'round for protection from freezing air conditioned buildings.

Natalie, I've been thinking about trying the LE cardis, but I'm interested in the "fit 1" styles. Have you tried those on?

Breaking my multiple habit was the hardest thing I ever did! I just remind myself that what I don't spend on the second one I can put toward a completely different sweater.

The other thing I noticed about the few multiples I have left is that truthfully, I only wear one of them. It's not always the first one I bought, unfortunately; that would be so much easier to cut myself off at one!

I used to buy multiples too, and then realized that I would wear predominately one color over the others, so I've broken that habit other than true basics... camis, knit layering pieces, etc... but even with those one usually gets way more wear than the others.

Oh.. I confess I have the same problem, when I like I tend too buy in different colors too!

I'm in the no such thing as too many cardigans camp. For me they are the most flattering thing (on my body type). I wear them year round, even in the swealtering midwestern summer due to the ac inside. In my travels in the US I find the hotter it is outside, the more the ac is cranked inside.

I'm a cardigan junkie so I say stock up, especially if you find one that is perfect. Last winter I bought four (yes, I said four) identical BR cardigans in different colors. It is the perfect shape for me (cropped & v-neck), the button hits just at the right spot, and the quality is good (oh, and the price was sweet!). I felt a little nuts at the time but I honestly have worn all four of them to death. Layering with a cardigan has extended my wardrobe exponentially and with my body type & lifestyle, it is an essential.

Jenny, no I haven't tried on the Fit 1 cardigans. In the catalog those seem more like t-shirt material than sweaters, right?

Shana, four of the same cardigan, huh? Sounds totally like me.

When I do buy multiples of something, I usually end up wearing them all about equally, so I guess, for me, it's an okay thing.

Cute outfit! Love the cardigan. It compliments you very well. The only thing I would have done differently is eliminated the boots and worn pumps or even peep-toes.
