to belt or not to belt that is my question!

I had this dress copied from a friends Zara dress. I chose a deep blue silk it is quite loose fitting so comfy for the hot summer months. I plan to wear it out in the evenings do you think that it looks better with or without the belt?

Also I have tried with two different shoes one black pair and the other gold sandals, which look best? or could I do both to change the look for 2 different nights? I am on holiday for 5 weeks, so different combinations of the same outfit would be helpful!

Well they both look great but I think the belted look is the winner. Either pair of shoes works

You are lovely!
You can wear it both ways but I prefer it belted.. so in right now and so chic.

I would wear it belted with the sandals and without the belt with flats for a more casual look.

I think I am going against the common consensus here but I love the second look for evening and the first look for a formal daytime outfit.

I loved the belted look with the closed toe shoes...too formal for daytime I think but I love it for night!

Both ways look great but if i had to choose it would be belted. Both pairs of shoes look great x

I love both looks. Try belted for the evening and unbelted with flats for daytime. What a beautiful dress by the way!

My thoughts are that both looks and both pairs of shoes are wonderful on you. The unbelted dress with sandals looks perfect for a warm evening.

I also think both look great. I agree that the belted look is more dressy. Unbelted would look good over skinny jeans or leggings as a casual daytime look.

I adore it belted, that is my favorite by far. I never thought about having a piece made to fit, that is really a great idea!

I love it both ways. I think you can wear it both ways for different occasions and with different accessories!

This is my first time having things made, I had 5 dresses made in total, I fitted properly (the cream one that I plan to wear to my daughters christening) and the other 4 are loose fitting. I am happy with all but one (the one I fear looks like nurse uniform!) So far I think it has been a good idea and the fabric is so cheap. If you have a dress that you really like then you can have it copied in a different colour. It is particularly good if you have spent quite a lot of money on one item, then you get more of your moneys worth be getting it duplicated iykwim?! Thanks for your comments so far. I am pleased that this one will work for a few different nights!

What a pretty dress. I can't decide - I think it just gives you a whole new additonal dress by adding the belt. The length is a tiny bit on the shorter side especially belted - and I think it would look stunning with a pair of dark wash denim jeans or leggings as well.
