I need to buy a gift for a 6-year-old little lady in Germany. Is there anything that kids in Germany would want particularly from the US? The family sent my daughter a little Hello Kitty bracelet kit, so I'm thinking maybe the types of products available in both countries are similar. But if there are things available only in the US, please do let me know!

The hottest ticket item in the crafting zone at the moment is the Rainbow Loom which you can get from Amazon and also ChaptersIndigo. I think a 6 yr old would be able to make the simple bracelet style with some assistance. http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-.....B00DMC6KAC

My son is much younger but I came to post the same thing as Glory. Our parenting listserv is agog with chatter about this loom thing and the little ponies(?).

Ah, I like the idea of the Rainbow Loom if the little girl is into crafts and making things. The little ponies and Hello Kitty toys and accessories are very popular in Europe too, so chances are high that she already has some of those.

I'm drawing a bit of a blank here, but will get back to the thread if I think of something else.

That looks like so much fun! I did notice in the Amazon comments that there's some concern about a counterfeit version that's poorly made so I hope there's an easy way to buy the real deal online.

Also there are some youtube videos which show how to make the bracelets at the various levels. Tons of fun.
