Tips to look modern in a turtleneck + Blog redesign!

Wanted to share a few tips to not look matronly in a classic cotton stretch turtleneck that i've discovered recently. Also incredibly applicable for anyone with a larger chest. See tips here: http://thepearshape.com/not-lo.....urtleneck/

Nice tips! I agree that loose hair and tailored/tight bottoms can keep one from appearing matronly. Bright colored t-necks work as well as printed ones I think. I'm a big fan of these tops because they work well with my long neck and give the illusion of a larger bust

I respectfully disagree here. I don't think a slim silhouette top with another slim silhouette on bottom is the most modern look. I have to wear slim tops for my work uniform and am dying to find the right slighty roomy jean to make them look less 2000's. Been there, done that, would love to not have to do it still just because it's my uniform

I think it is important to find what works for you and it does not necessarily works for everybody else. I think I don't follow any of your 4 rules: neutral colors, slouchy bottoms, no jewellery, my hair is short - but I don't think it looks matronly.
I think you blog's new look is great.

Maybe matronly is the wrong word for me. But it's true solid colour boxy fitted tnecks can look a little "Lands End" to me, maybe that is matronly to you
I agree Sveta that you NEVER look matronly, I love your style. But neither do you look like a casual 20-something, and why would you want to? You're way more sophisticated. Maybe that's the disconnect here - different style goals.

Love the redesign! I am no longer sure on the rules on anything, The seem to be so many exceptions. You have found what works for you and that's important!

I do wear turtlenecks with my hair up and I think it looks sophisticated and chic.

Lauren, I checked out your blog. I'm glad I clicked over...I had no idea there was such a thing as a "curvy, skinny" jean. :-p I high-tailed it over to LOFT after I saw your post and the fit is great without being ubertight. Thanks for posting!

I actually disagree with every one of your tips as a general rule, and I think Sveta's fab photo proves my point. That said, you look adorable in your t-neck and your rules certainly work for you!
