Tips for shopping NAS please

Calling experienced shoppers! This is the first time I'd like to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in an organized way. I live near a brick & mortar Nordies and also shop online. I am a cardholder. Thank you in advance!

I am much newer to the sale than others here, but my tips are 1) get a Nordstrom credit card so you can get first dibs before the good stuff sells out and 2) see what Angie says about the good stuff based On her in person observations. The latter is important for people like me who are more than 80 miles from a physical store location.

Angie recommends to make an appointment with Nordstrom stylist for the pre-sale - and go as early as you can for a better selection.
She also posts her top pick lists for the first day of the regular sale and they are very helpful.

Think a bit about what categories of item interest you most. Do you need/ want a new jacket? Workwear? Casual wear? Is it time to stock up on undies? This is a great time to get the essentials at a good price, or to splurge on something special that you otherwise would not purchase.

Their lingerie wash also goes on sale during NAS.

I typically stock up on undies and my perfume and scented lotion (Yes, I do wear some and I am a migraine sufferer so I spritz lightly). Also a good time to look for accessories on sale like scarves, belts, jewelry, and exercise clothing.

There are no brick and mortar stores near me so I shop online.

Thank you for your suggestions! Like the ideas of splurging on something special, stocking up on basics, and making a stylist appointment. I'm in transition between an academic career and retirement, including lots of outdoor volunteering and completing a second masters degree.

I don't really know what I "am" right now but am enjoying just relaxing into what I'll become. Do you think a personal stylist would be able to help me in this vague state?

I agree with Angie and Sveta's tips on working with a stylist for the sale. You want someone who will put NAS items aside for you -- good items go fast! One of the things I like about the Nordstrom stylists I've known is they enjoy working with real life situations like yours; they won't try to dress you for a life that doesn't fit your reality.

I'd suggest meeting your stylist before the sale and help him/her get an idea of your style and lifestyle. Then s/he can pull items and set them aside for you in advance.

I hear from stylists it gets quite cutthroat behind the scenes. Some items never make it to the floor in certain sizes because stylists pull the full stock for customers.

If you see something in the catalog, have the stylist pull it for you and hold it when they are allowed to. The have access before the presale for their special. I usually email my stylist or sales associate with my list. She says it is easier for her and saves her time.
