While a lot of you are getting ready to hit the Nordstrom sale (irl or online), I'm browsing what's on offer on their website, and sighing just a little because I can't be there;-) And I know i'm not the only one (hello Manda).
I can't wait to see what you all get, and hear your shopping stories. So indulge us a little when you get home and put up lots of pictures, or links at least, pretty please?

Hi Inge, I can not get to the store, so I was limited to online. I mentioned this in the other thread, but they had nothing on my list ( and my list was a fairly long one).
So I have just ordered these oxfords in grey:

I've been wanting to get a pair of those tights too. Did you get them in Black/Midnight?
I like the grey colour of the shoes (the burgundy as well, I'm thinking a pair of burgundy boots is what I need this winter, my shopping list is getting longer by the minute;-)

For some reason I've never been a big fan of oxfords, but I do think these could be very versatile and I'm interested to see how you'll integrate them in your existing wardrobe.

Inge, I got the tights in black/grey, I already have a pair from last year and absolutely love them.

I have quite a few tweedy wooly pants in shades of grey/black, so I plan to wear the oxfords with them and also with jeans, trouser jeans and denim/cord skirts. I actually got a pair last year that I had to get rid of since they were so uncomfortable, so I'm hoping that these would fare better considering that they are by Me Too.

Unfortunately I can't make it to the store IRL, and even if I could, I need to save my $ right now since we're on our way to Paris shortly. I'd rather save the money to buy something fabulous in Paris!

But here is what is tempting me - if I could spend the money:

Doesn't look like it could be altered because of the detail on the sleeves and hem, but this is just so "me"... it's calling my name!

Also, the red wool petite coat Becky is contemplating.... that is such a gorgeous red, it's tempting me too. But, I don't like belts on my wool coats. Just a fussy thing.

As I've said elsewhere, I got the Oxfords and love them. Inge, the burgandy actually looks almost like cordovan leather to me, so it almost looks like a men's shoe with a heel. The grey are much funkier, yet the more classic color of the burgandy could be great.

Shiny, I love Botkier handbags. I have a classic Trigger in Black and then a beautiful satchel in the softest plum leather that I get compliments on all the time. I love the patent you linked to. One thing I know is that their bags (at least the two I have) are made very well and they can hold a lot. I've been quite impressed. I love the jacket and coat, too. The skirt is really intriguing. I had a denim one similar to it, too! I am never quite sure how I feel about skirts with zippers; for some reason I always feel a bit awkward.

(I have one leather jacket at the moment, but wouldn't mind getting a few more - not encouraging you to spend your Paris money, nohooo;-)

These are SO comfortable. And I love the stable heel. They look better on, trust me. Superb with all pants and jeans. Lovely cheeky little toe detail.

These need experimentation. It's those fussy feet again. Got to make sure these bony feet stay happy. If they don’t make the cut, they’re going back. The slouchy style looks fabulous tucked into skinnies and I don’t have calf length boots yet.

Ah ha! I had my eye on that Rag and Bone Blazer AND those Franco Sarto booties! I didn't find the blazer though, and the little ruffle on the Nanette Lepore booties won out for me. I'll have to save my pennies for those things.

The red Stuart Weitzman boots are killer! I hope they work out!

When I saw that jacket online, I immediately thought Angie and Ana. Angie, those flat oxfords bring back memories. I was so into menswear for dressing up as a teenager. I've been tempted to revisit the look which I haven't since then but I feel hesitant. Oxfords and vests (what do you call them Angie?), sigh... I suppose it's a matter of finding the right piece. I'm tempted by these

Sweet! It’s interesting to be thought of “in garments”. Guess my personal style comes through on this forum after all. Looks like you and I have a similar taste thing going, Ana. Patience said so herself!

I enjoy throwing in an arty- farty edge from time to time. The whole “waistcoat and brogue thing” is therefore a Winter must. I like the idea of wearing the look with pretty Anne Fontaine blouses and pearls.

My fingers are crossed for those red boots. I’m doubtful, but they look SO FAB with my biker jacket.

I think we do have some overlap for sure Angie (which makes me feel super stylish)! I've always been a fan of ruffly/girly things paired with more masculine, structured items. It just seems like an interesting contradiction, that two "opposite" things would go together so well. It balances out (must be the Libra in me).

Angie, I love the jacket and the mens wear shoes. Will you wear them together, you think? Or too much black. In HS, I had a pair of black leather lace up spectator oxfords. I loved those shoes and had them for years. The older they got the better they looked. I'd still be wearing them if my feet didn't grow 1/2 a size with each pregnancy!

My new jacket REALLY excites me. I haven’t been that excited about a fitted jacket since I bought my biker last year. It’s fab to have a “classic” piece again. Nicole, are you referring to the flat Matisse brogues? If so, I bought them in grey, so no risk of too much black. Yup. The intention to wear these items together.

So the Franco Sarto booties that I bought in black are examples of shoes you can wear with skinnies, straight legs and bootcuts, if you don’t fancy ballet flats. These are EXTREMELY comfortable.

I had my first Nordstroms sale experience on Friday, but ran out of time. I purchased the coat below, although I would like to know if there are any hints about who can wear raglan sleeves. They seemed fitted enough for a good shoulder line. I love the simple lines and the fabric, but am not sure about those sleeves. I don't think the 3/4 length will work with skirts. I'd welcome any opinions you have on this piece. Think of how it would look on someone your mother's age. It skims my body but isn't tight when buttoned up in the PP size.

I also bought a Calvin Klein short, single breasted, belted trench in a medium blue. It has a removable hood. I couldn't find it online. It was on sale at 50% off but not part of the preview sale. I love the color and fit.

I tried on some jeans and lots of tops, especially hoping to find a mesh Sweet Pea top or Karen Kane. I even found the purple and white floral. Nothing really looked fab with my jeans. The front was ok, but the back was a problem. The arm holes were also too big. Maybe I'm too old for this look :(.

I think I need to try to put together a couple of smart casual complete outfits for fall, head to toe, then look for pieces to go with them. It feels overwhelming not really knowing where to start. It's also problematic that I've lost 2 more pounds this week after staying the same for a month, so I hate to invest in clothes that may not really fit by the time fall gets here.

Angie: those are some seriously funky boots (love the outfit you described in another thread, I imaging you would be smiling every time you look down and see those red beauties!). I really hope they'll be comfortable!

I'm chuffed with everyone’s purchases too! There was a super spirit of excitement leading up to the sale, and after "the kill". And it’ not over yet. If they’ve run out of your size in a particular style, keep an eye on it. Loads of people start retuning items in the first week and your size might bounce back.

We would have loved to have you with us in the US, Inge. Thanks for your interest in our American purchases.
