THis may have been discussed before on this forum but how do you guys manage your time on YLF. I find it so addictive, looking at all the great outfits and comments and suggestions under it. I am spending couple of hours everyday on YLF these days which I totally cannot afford. I keep coming back for more inspiration. Also, sometimes I can't comment on all the lovely outfits out there. There are many that I love but if I start commenting on each of them......I will be on there 24/7.

I have the same problem, Mona. I'd spend all day here! I think I'll have to set a time for YLF on my schedule and stay away during the rest of the day.

It is very difficult and I haven't mastered this yet. I tend to take YLF "breaks" from my work or other activities. But the breaks can stretch to dangerous lengths!!

I also have tried to limit myself to after work hours. That may be my best solution; using it to unwind. But I hate missing anything!!

I'm with Suz. I try to log in on breaks and when I'm not working. I just accept that there will be things I miss and I can't comment on everything. I try to spread out commenting on WIW posts so I get most people at least once or twice every so often.

yup, same problem, especially amazed at some of the people who can write long answers to like every post! I get in an hour before work to catch up on the night chat... (since Angie is 9 hours later than me) and then an hour (yeah, just an hour, ha ha) in the evening trying to participate! I feel it is never enough, but at work is almost impossible! thank goodness

I'm fortunate because my boss doesn't mind if I'm online as long as I get my work done. Most of my work involves bookkeeping (online), answering phone calls and waiting on customers. I always seem to have time to check into YLF during the day, in between my job duties. It's wonderful! I don't have that luxury at night or on weekends, though, so you'll rarely see a post from me during those times.

I'm out of work at the moment and time is plentiful. Once I'm working again (nowhere near a computer) I will be much more sparse as well. I find one can never keep up with replies, no matter how much time you have. Just have to pick and choose which ones to take the time to comment on.

One thing I try to do, is comment right away if I see something I really like. I used to look at someone's post, say to myself "this is nice", and put off commenting until later. Now, if something looks really nice, I try to comment immediately.

I also like to intersperse "YLF time" between some boring tasks as a reward.

I too use my YLF time as a reward between undesirable tasks (diapers anyone?) mainly during my kids naptime in the afternoon and again to unwind a bit at night. I never feel like I have enough time to see/comment as much as I'd like either!

It is definitely addicting. I woke up and got out of bed last night to take the dog out for his midnight pee and I couldn't resist just "checking" to see what else new had popped up! I realize that I am still pretty new to the forum so my fervor may eventually die down slightly but it is so much fun that I am spending most of my free time doing this. I think my hubs and dog are feeling a wee bit neglected!

I'm a quick reader and hop on during my down-time at work, and almost never from home. It can definitely be hard to manage, especially with how fast the forum moves these days!

I think, as with most interests and hobbies, time on YLF should probably ebb and flow with your life. Like Mo says, she now has time on her hands; Kari said something similar a while ago. I'm a little sick today and as of yesterday, so I've been whiling away my time here to take my mind off the discomfort --- but then there are busy workdays when I can't get in an hour together!

DH is starting to wonder why I am 'working' so much on my laptop. Alas I don't get to write back to everyone but hope get round everyone. ManidipaM you are one who always writes such nice comments that I don't get back to! I guess we all are somewhat similar boats and the community gets our attention in an overall way!

Like Suz, I hop on from time to time in between tasks, or while I'm waiting for my computer to batch process some photos, etc. I realized recently that it may look like I'm on here a lot more than I am because I never log out (no one else uses my computers but me) and sometimes I leave the window open in my browser tabs as I do other stuff.

Then on a morning like today I actually get a bit of solid time to sit with my coffee and catch up a bit more!

The addictiveness of YLF is something I struggle with (it is 11:38am here and I haven't washed the breakfast dishes yet!) Sometimes I have had to take a break - usually a month, where I don't read the forum, and just read the blog posts in one big once a week read through.

I mostly view ylf on my phone now so can pop in whenever I've got a spare 5 minutes like yesterday morning waiting for BF to get his act together so we could go out or now lying in bed plucking up the enthusiasm to get up! Pre smartphone I used to spend hours in one go here x

I have the same problem, and I do like Suz. I have to discipline myself because time flies when I'm here. Some evenings I simply shut down my computer. Or I'll say to myself: Ok until my tea is drunk - and when the cup is empty I have to painfully extract myself from YLF.

I stay logged in all the time too - I have a rule that the time I have set for studying isn't taken up with the internet, but it's easy to finish working, pop onto YLF while eating lunch and still be here a couple of hours later :/

I find a similar problem with keeping on top of blogs I follow, too - there are so many of them, and I hate to miss anything ...
