Tights for Spring?

Are tights okay for spring wear this year, and if so, what colors/styles are appropriate?

I am taking a trip to Tokyo in a few days, and I really want to be able to wear skirts or even shorts, but the weather won't be very warm. Can I wear tights or leggings?

Will have to wait for Angie as to whether they are in this season. Personally i still love my coloured/ patterned tights and footless leggings x

And even if they're not in, I would like to hear what others wear with skirts in the warmer weather. I don't enjoy displaying my white, spider-veined legs. Before YLF, I would wear longer skirts. Now that I realize this is not a good look for a short person, I'm a little stumped about what to wear as spring arrives.

Incidentally, I have had no luck finding microfishnets. Googling produces a number of disappointing sites announcing that Oroblu is out of production (as well as a lot of fetish sites -- no comment). Anyone have a good source for these?

If it's still too cold to go bare-legged, I don't think tights and leggings would be inappropriate (I certainly hope not;-)

How about tights and hose with a self-pattern, micro fishnets etc.?
Some clever YLF'ers have suggested two pairs of hose worn over each other for warmth too.

i wear tights here when it's cold, even in spring, so i certainly hope it's not a problem!

april, i have no problem displaying my "winterfied" legs - how else are they going to get any glimpse of sun?

April have you looked for the brand DKNY for micro fishnets? I believe that is Donna Karen New York. Good luck. I got mine at Nordstrom's.

Hi TylerAnne, how about footless tights with your skirts? Would it be warm enough to wear them with ballet flats? That would be a cute spring look.
I personally don't like the look of shorts with tights unless you're super young, slim, and trendy. Hooray to you if you are and then by all means go for it

This won't help for cold weather but in the summer I use self tanning cream on my legs with good results. I've heard that the spray on tans you can buy are wonderful for coverage of spider veins, etc. but can be messy to apply. I haven't tried them yet but intend to when it warms up.
I found Calvin Klein and Hanes micro fishnets at Marshalls, so it's hit or miss, but maybe you can find them on line.

I'm a huge fan of nude fishnets. Mine aren't micro fishnet, but they work for me. What I like is that they offer some coverage without being to thick or heavy. I will wear them through Spring if needed. I got mine at Kohls (Simply Vera brand).
We are already into the mid 80's, so all of my tights are stored for next fall already. Sigh.

Nude fishnets! I love that idea. I have to wear hose all year long at work, so I am always looking for something super-light and breathable for the worst of the summer months, especially now that I am growing my dress collection. I am headed to Kohls tonight to stock up! Thank you so much for the tip.
