Tie neck blouse

In last month's Lucky magazine (not the current one), page 84 featured tie neck blouses. I've drooled over those, and have spent way too much time already browsing online to find one that's stylish, affordable, and works for me, but no luck yet. (I have not seen those specific ones I liked in Lucky online, otherwise I would post links.)

Love the one Tanya wore on Tuesday (http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3012.jpg), but I already got a white summer blouse and would prefer a different color or maybe a pattern. Something I can wear by itself, not necessarily layered underneath a jacket/vest.

Many that I see online are cut away at the shoulders a lot, more halter style, which is not such a great cut for me. I'd prefer a regular sleeveless style.

Anyway, if anyone else thinks tie neck blouses are lovely and has a pointer to some I might not have seen yet, please let me know...

Angie, do you think this is a style that will pop up in fall as well? If so, maybe I'll wait and see if I find a long-sleeve one for fall.

Sorry, I realize this is somewhat of a tumbled post; I just needed to get my fondness for tie neck blouses out there and see if anyone shared it

Antje, I love the tie-neck blouses as well, and also liked that Lucky article. In addition to the white one, I own this lilac one which has a removable tie:

and a simple navy silk sleeveless halter style one that's for dressier occasions only. I plan to extend my collection in a fall, with a black and/or purple long sleeved one.

Here are some currently available online ( all sleeve lengths and price points) that I like. The very first one I adore: the sleeves, the pattern, the price, but (un)fortunately it's sold out in my size. I also love the fifth LS black one.

A necktie blouse in my favourite type of blouse. I LOVE the secretary look and wear it as often as I can. I have the specs to match *chuckle*.

( I own the first Esprit style in black and I’ll show it to you, Antje).

These blouses come in all silhouettes. I personally like the ones that tie up against the neck because they are best for my body type (it shortens my giraffe- like neck). You’re probably after blouses that tie in a V- right?

Ooh, I would love to find a V-neck tie blouse! Crew necks aren't so great on me.

Has anyone seen the back of the BR blouse? Is it a halter top, or does it have a back?

Have you come across any others on your internet shopping travels Tanya (batting eyelashes)?

Oh, no puff/cap sleeves, please. Sleeveless, 3/4, or true short sleeves are best.

I like the way it looks when the tie is tied at the neck, but the blouse is left open. I don't care for it buttoned all the way up and tied at the neck. Is that the "secretary" look you are referring to? It reminds me of a whole slew of bad 80's-women-succeed-in-the-corporate-world movies. Maybe it'll grow on me if I see more of it.

The halter looking BR one is gorgeous.

No problem Kyle, they are by Express, and they are the wide-legged Editors.

I bought them last fall, not sure if they still have the wide-legged style, but they do the regular Editor trouser jeans. I hope you find them. Good luck!

Thank you so much, Tanya, how cool. I really like both of the Esprit styles you linked to (the black and white one from Dillards, and the sleeveless dark blue one from Espritshop). Also love the look of the BR halter style one, but I think that cut is not so flattering on me. I'm going shopping with my mom tomorrow or on the weekend (she is visiting from Germany and will dig shopping at that exchange rate... I envy her!) and will see if we come across a tie neck blouse; if not I will give the Esprit ones serious thought. Thank you!!

Oh Angie, I have been swooning over those two, particularly first one for a while. I have seen them both in person and absolutely loved them.

I have even passed over the oportunity to get the first one in blue in an online sample sale for $80 and am still feeling hearth-broken about it. I decided to skip it due to my shopping ban ( I take promises very seriously, particularly to you wonderful people here) and the fact that it is silk- that would make it work-unfriendly for me, hence it would be in my big pile of pretty stuff I hardly ever wear beacuse I don't have where. But I think about it a lot all the time If I stumble on it again in September at a discouinted price, trhan I shall call it destiny and get it after all!
