Thrifted skirt and sweater - too short?

Went thrifting today for pretty much the first time ever - I found a fantastic place! I bought a skirt, two sweaters and a beret for about $16.50. There was some good stuff in amongst the junk, including a Betsey Johnson dress (too big for me or I'd have snapped it up!)

Anyway, I bought this skirt and sweater and wanted to see what you thought. The skirt is adorable, but it's definitely the shortest I'd ever wear. Do the tights make it OK? For $4, I don't mind if it has to be re-donated, but it's pretty cute.

Yeah, unfortunately I think it's a little short. What type of occasions are you thinking of? I could see this for an evening out, but not to work.

Do you have taller riding style boots? Maybe a classic boot would help balance it out. Or can you pull it down a few inches and camouflage the top with a jacket?

I second leggings under it - I even like it with the tights, but I love a cute mini. Does it have any hem allowance you can let down? Even an extra inch would do wonders.

I diagree, I don't think it's too short the way you're wearing it! You've got a great look here. It's a conservative print, which helps. I have a couple of skirts that might fall into this category as well.

Hi Tricia, nice figure. I don't think it's that short, and you can wear it with leggings. But the most important thing is you are comfortable with the look.

I think it looks nice as you are wearing it as you have a nice figure and you look young enough to carry it off. You may feel more comfortable with a higher boot.
Great skirt though. I could see it with leggings and flats too.
Welcome to the world of thrift shops where you can try looks on the cheap. It is quite addictive but you have to be careful because the bargains are tempting.

The sweater looks a little sheer. I would probably layer it with a cami.

I think the skirt length is a tinsy bit short, but nothing that leggings couldn't fix. However, I think the outfit as a whole is too brown. It needs some color or texture. Not sure I'd wear the brown top with the brown skirt.
