The word of the month is: COZY.

1. Red-blue-purple scarf made in Guatemala of the softest bamboo-based chenille. I have ruled that more outerwear accessories are always acceptable purchases.

2. No-label gloves. Feels like wool. Possibly homemade?? They don’t quite go with that scarf but do with others I own. I love them.

3-4. Another scarf/shawl thing. From what little info I can glean about the label, it is from Munich, Germany.

5. I think I thrifted this skirt in some sort of fugue state back in December because I forgot all about it, then found it, threw it in the wash, and wore it to Target, where I had a ridiculous look on my face. It’s by Pact and is made of soft thick gauze that is somehow cozy rather than gauzy. Pockets!

6-8. This top (brand Habitat) … I took a chance that it would go with the infamous tube skirt and I’m not sure whether the colors harmonize the way I hoped but I cannot seem to get the phone to capture them accurately. It has a handy pocket on one side and a zipper on the other that I like partly open, but it would still fit if I closed it even though the labeled size is extra-small and I am obviously not. I’m uncertain about this experiment but it was extremely inexpensive.

9. RESISTED: It killed me to leave behind this $5 blue silk organza skirt with a $350 price tag still on it, but I was unable to figure out the role a completely see-through floor-length organza skirt was going to play in my life.

10. Pretty sure this owl plate is going to be one of my favorite finds of 2026 even though I got it the first week of January. From a distinctive signature on the back I was able to ID the artist who made it. I did end up giving it to my mother at least for the time being. She loves it too!
