Three new pieces and a midi

I have three new pieces I wanted to show you:

#1 I couldn't go home without this necklace! So pretty...

#2 New top. I love the color and the neckline.

#3 New pants. The price was 10€, instead of 75€. They fit perfectly in the waist, the only drawback ist that they are a bit short. I thought I would wear them tucked into the booties I plan to buy. I had to get them for this price, they are so comfortable!

What do you think about the skirt in pic #4? It's one my grandma still had in her closet. Does it look too much like table-cloth? I could shorten it too just below the knee. Should I keep it at all?

Hi Astrid, gorgeous necklace. I can understand not being able to leave without it. Such a pretty top. Love the colour and the neckline...what will you wear it with? Jeans look good. The skirt is pretty and workable. I think shorter on you could be really sweet.

Thanks, Deborah! I wanted to wear the top either with jeans or tucked into a skirt. The cut of the top works in both ways. I will think about shortening the skirt, I think it would look better a bit shorter.

Hi Astrid! I LOVE the necklace, and the top. Even though the necklace will go with a lot of tops, it looks like it was made for your new one. The jeans are great as well. As far as the skirt goes, I'd toss. Even though I love skirts, flowers and prints, I don't think all of these mix well on this skirt. It make you look frumpy. Looking at the photos of you in the jeans and skirt, the jeans make you look hip and together, and the skirt does the opposite!

Love the necklace and top; and the fit of your pants is incredible! I'm not loving the skirt, though. After seeing your great figure in the pic with the pants, it seems to me that the skirt makes you look unnecessarily frumpy.

the pants sound like it was a great deal! is there any hem you can let out? tucking into boots sounds like a great option too.

Astrid, the color of that blouse looks gorgeous with your skin and hair! Keep! And the necklace is so lovely, too.

The trousers were a steal and fit you perfectly.

And admittedly, I logged in specifically to comment and bat for the skirt. I love the print, the sentimental aspect (it is your grandmother's!) and I love the fit. I think with a silk blouse, you could really make this skirt look incredible. Keep!

Hi, Astrid - I'm going to vote with Heather on this one. Heather loves gathered skirts, and loves tucking, so she can see the possibilities. For your fun, fresh, and sometimes-sweet style, I think this skirt could be a great summer go-to. I agree it needs to be shorter (just above the knee?), and you could belt it, too, with one of those fun colours. With the extra fabric, you might make a scarf or hair ribbons or something....it would be so nice to have something of your grandmother's.

Your pants are super and can definitely be tucked. As for your blouse and necklace - AHHH! I also love the lock of your gorgeous hair featured in that photo!

Linda and yellowgirl, I know that the contrast between the jeans and the skirt is high, but I haven't done anything to style these things here so I'm a bit hesitant to make this comparison. Maybe it's the length that signals frumpy.

Kim, I just had a look and the hem could probably be let out a little bit, but not much.

love your haul...not feeling the skirt as is.

i think it's a combo of factors--the print + the gathered waist style + the length. any 2 would be style-able, but all three together makes the skirt look dated.

i think it would be funner and younger (just like you!) if you hemmed to knee high and wore with a fitted tank and fun sandals. very breezy summery look. hurry...we may be running out of warm days soon!

I think the skirt could be great if styled correctly - although it almost looks too big on you? In any case, I think it has promise.

Love that top on you! The color, the neckline, are both perfect. Score on the pants!! I don't think they're that short - you might be able to get away with flats. But tucked into boots is a perfect solution if they do end up being too short. Not so keen on the skirt to be honest.
Off to see what others think of it . . .

Love the top and the necklace and the pants, especially tucked into booties. I think that skirt definitely has potential if you shorten it. It could be a cute summer go-to skirt, and it's so sweet that it was your grandma's!

Hi Astrid! Love, love, love everything about the top and necklace! Color, draping, cut, sparkle. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

Pants are great, too. I though they were going to look cropped the way you described them, and the length looks fine to me....I think because of the tapered 80's style leg. Booties with them for sure, but maybe a ballet flat?

What do you think of a denim jacket with grandmother's skirt? Perhaps a wide belt would hide the elastic. Could turn out really cute!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to shorten the skirt and we'll see how it turns out. I still hope for summer, the weather has been very cold and rainy.
