Thoughts on TT hem (with pictures) and the Vince rib cashmere sweater

First, apologies for picture quality: I've lost my best lighting as we're doing major work on the house and I can't access my spot. Also pics are unstyled for the same reason. All winter clothes have been lovingly sealed away in the closet with plastic sheeting to protect from construction dust. Are we having fun yet?

Below is the TT coat in a 4P. This is a gorgeous coat with beautiful details and a very heavy weight. The back is less voluminous than I thought: it's a single pleat that lies flat but still provides swing. I'm not at all surprised that Angie pointed this out as the best coat at NAS.

On me, the overall fit is surprisingly good since I don't normally wear a petite in anything other than skirts. Fit in the shoulder and arms is fine. I would like thoughts on the style, overall length and sleeve length. Look OK? Or better in a regular size possibly? Or maybe this is not the coat for me?

The next pictures are the Vince boat neck rib cashmere sweater. Sizing is typical Vince, and this is an XS. The drape is fantastic and the neckline is really flattering. It's the first thing DH pointed out when I asked him his thoughts and he never notices details like that. However, it is quite sheer, which is the second thing he mentioned. If I keep it, I'll wear it with a tank although there will be some grinning going on. It fills a real hole in my closet.

I love them both on you, the coat is fantastic. The sheerness of the sweater does not bother me at all, especially since I usually layer cashmere over a tank/fitted tee anyway.

That coat looks like it was custom made for you. Just lovely. Where the hem hits your thigh looks perfect to my eye. The overall vibe I get is youthful, metro, smart, and sophisticated. I like the sleeve length. It hits just, minutely, below the wrist bone, which looks good and also means you can wear a pair of wrist length gloves in winter with reasonable expectation that you will keep your wrist covered and warm. Not sure if that's stylish, but it's practical. Such a great coat!

The Vince sweater does look a bit sheer. Most sweaters do anymore, alas. Everything else about it looks stellar.

You look gorgeous in the coat! How do you like the fit? What size do you normally wear in coats? I hope Angie weighs in here, it doesn't seem like you need the petite, you might want to try the regular for comparison. But I'm not a fit expert by any stretch, just basing it off my preferred fit.

Love the Vince sweater on you. I'm a bit happy it sold out in my size early. I have a nude color tank that I wear under see through knits to avoid the grinning.

Arm length looks perfect (bit I'm no expert). Is there enough room in the waist bust and under the arm?

Both look like keepers to me. Is a layer with the sweater a deal breaker to you? I do like it better fully untucked.

I love the coat on you but vote try a regular size. The sleeves look a smidge short, and the overall length is fine but would also be fine if longer.

I always wear a cami or tee under my cashmere for extra warmth (I'm only wearing cashmere in true winter - but my winter is long enough I can be picky like that)

Does the need to wear a cami bother you? If it bugs you now, you'll never reach for it later.

The coat is perfect. The sweater, I like less with the semi tuck but it's otherwise quite nice.

Colette and Smittie, I like the fit very much and am a bit surprised by the ease in the shoulders, which is sometimes an issue for me in terms of jackets and coats.

Una, it's a case of the coat fitting the personality. I'm team structure all the way! Glad you like it.

KL and Suz, the 4 regular will be here on Monday. The website indicates that it's 2" longer than the petite which may be too much. I'll be interesting to compare.

Delurked, I think I like the sweater untucked best too. It has a lovely drape and feel.

Angie, a double killer is always fun to get and it's almost too easy when choosing from your picks.

The sweater stays, with a cami added. Colette's comment was a total lightbulb moment for me. I have nude bras of course but for some reason it's never occurred to buy a nude CAMI. Doh!
