Thoughts on this tunic sweater

My quest is for comfy-cozy, easy tops to wear over skinnies or leggings and tall boots. I'm trying to veer Helmut Lang/Alexander Wang/Vince with simple asymmetry for interest and to avoid frump. What do you think of this?

I find I run cold at work and am also on the hunt for some kind of poncho I can throw on at my desk. I don't want a wrap because it always falls off my shoulders when I'm typing.

Any other suggestions are welcome!

I love it. I only worry that it might be too long on petite you -- you'd need to try it on to be sure!

I agree with Mary, you have to make sure to get a small enough size so the sweater isn't too long. Here are some ideas, they have less length than the Joie sweater (I tried that sweater last year and it was too long on me, but it looked amazing on Debora!). I think if sized properly they would be tunic style.

Same thought as some of the other ladies -- I fear you might be overwhelmed by such a dramatic, oversize piece. It's beautiful, though. Suppose we would need to see it on, yes?

I love the colours it comes in! (Er...and the neutrals, too.)

But I would worry personally about being overwhelmed in it, as others have said. Also, for a throw on top piece, the sleeves look snug -- any sleeve you have underneath would need to be equally snug. And the length of it would make it tricky (potentially) with coats. I don't like it when tails of my sweater trail out beneath my coat.

Rae, those are awesome. I especially love the crop of course, but could I make it work-appropriate? The EF tunic is lovely but mohair and sheer are not workable for me. Love the cashmere tunic and that fitted sweater too. I need to just hire you to shop for me. Or is that already happening?

On another note, I'm thinking of buying another pair of the NYDJ ponte trousers but in the regular sizing to get more length (though they will need to be hemmed). Do you know if the sizing is different for P and reg? Like is a 4P a 2 in regular sizing?

Yes, I'd say 4P is more equivalent to 2R. The rise may be slightly higher on the regular. LMK if you want measurements or anything!

For a cropped sweater going to work, I was thinking something like the below, or even just with a slim cami in the same color. Probably would look even more conservative if you kept the under shirt the same color as the sweater.

It's fantastic!

I always have a pashmina at my desk for those chilly times. One of the secretaries with whom I work says she always has an undershirt on under her blouses (our office is chilly). I keep meaning to try that.
