Thoughts on these coats?

These are both by a brand I know to be decent enough quality and wouldn't break the bank even though they have a fabric with high wool content. The first one is available in dark grey and dark navy, the second one in a lighter grey. The first one is very classic - too classic? The second one is shorter than the first - 89.5cm to 94cm. The 94 cm should be knee length on me. Both cost the same. Shipping is free and I could buy on account, so I could order two sizes for comparison. What do you think, is one worth a try?

I prefer the first one because it is a) longer and b) more classic. Depending on your existing coats, IMO it's always better to start with very basic styles that will cover the most options then build up with interesting cuts. 1 can be worn with pants and skirts and those extra 5 cm can make the difference in covering the skirt. I prefer the dark grey option for you

Thanks Ornella! I only have the grey peacoat at the moment, which is too big. So starting with a classic coat in a neutral is not a bad idea. Yes, I was thinking the length of the second one might be a dealbreaker. The length of the first one should go well with my skirts and pants of course too. Then it's just a question of fit.

Speaking of national holiday, I just saw that there's 20% off certain brands on that website to celebrate our unity, until tomorrow. The coats too!

Okay, I just ordered the first one in dark grey, in two sizes. I did it now so that I don't miss out on the special offer. Hopefully it will work!

Good luck! Can't wait to see pics.....and a good way to celebrate unification :). FWIW, I'd love to see the second coat on you too.......I like the lighter colour, the interesting collar, and I because it's shorter I think it will work well over pants in the colder weather. But the first is def the more classic of the two, so if you're looking at building a classic winter capsule it will be a great foundation.
