Thoughts on these birki like sandals - UPDATED

I am planning to add 1-2 pair of sandals this spring/summer. I will need to purge 2 black pairs, a blue pair and a white pair due to heel height.

I like the ones Angie posted: Clark Chutney in the 14 fab finds! Just need to find those here in the great White North. They may still come to stores here - we are not anywhere near spring/summer yet.

I was also thinking to add a pair of birki style sandals. My first thought was to go with the Birkenstock Arizona in tobacco. When I saw these ones I thought they might work well instead.

Thoughts? Wondering about the faux leather - that might be an issue? Has anyone tried this brand? They are Betula.

I think these are lovely with the patent gloss and the criss cross straps.

I believe Betula are actually made by the same company that makes Birkenstocks, they are just a more fashion forward line. I have a pair and I love them!

I don't know the brand, but quite like this style with the thinner straps and the patent black that feels a little more refined.

I agree with what rachey says in terms of the direct translation of the look, but I like these, I think they are graceful, and kind of want them myself. If you get them, share how they feel

The thinner straps might not be directly on trend, but the same sole and the patent black reel them back in for me. And yes, Betula and Birkie and both sub-brands of Birkenstock, and both of those lines more commonly carry synthetic leathers and bright colours. So the sole should be comfortable, and the straps shouldn't present a problem unless they rub initially. They will soften up, but not anything like the leather or suede versions.

I tried them on my way to child pickup since the store is right on the way. They are cute but the faux leather is very very plastic looking. Also, they are too wide for me and not adjustable. I have a very narrow foot. On to the next try.

I have had both regular Birks and Betula in the past. Not a lot of difference if I remember correctally, but back then the Betulas were soft real suade. Don't know about the new ones. There were a few here that ordered the some on the 6pm special, but havn't heard if they like them. I am a bit concerned about the patent being stiff, but love some of the cute colors the Betula come in. Yes, the betula and birks are the same company according to 6pm.

If you are interested, many Birkenstocks (Birkies, Betula) also come in narrow widths because their typical wide sole doesn't work for everyone. You might want to look into narrows to see if those would work for you if you really like the shoes otherwise.

I really like them - I feel like the look is a bit more refined - but still very birk-ish.... but take this with a grain of salt from me - I am now publicly admitting I never threw mine away - and pull them out whenever I am feeling a bit "hippy chick-ish"!!

Depending on how narrow your foot is the narrow Birks are not that narrow. They are too wide for me but I wear them anyway...
I have both the regular Birks and the beach ones (forget name) that don't have a cork sole and a fake leather strap but it is faced in a sort of fuzzy type thing that doesn't make them slip. The beach ones don't have nearly the support or comfort of true Birks but at the beach are perfect. Actually going to the grocery store on a rainy day, etc. too.
