I'm asking a lot of questions in this post. Feel free to answer only the ones you like, I would never expect anything else!
I've spent some time lately playing with my wardrobe and trying to figure out which way to move along this year. Those of you who know me from last year know that I've tapped into Project 333 ideas, 24 in 12 and many other ways to handle a slightly too large wardrobe. The thing is, I'm too easily bored to be content with only 30 pieces of clothing. I also don't like to throw something useful out just to make room for something new, unless it in fact is quite worn or dated, so limiting the numbers very strictly doesn't work for me.
You might also know that I've updated my basics recently with a new navy suit, a navy dress, a grey cashmere hoodie, black pumps and couple of knits. I've also added a thrifted silk blouse and a pair of new dark wash jeans, so I think I'm more than set for the rest of this season. Since I've spent a little more on my basics++ than I intended to, I've decided to buy nothing new until Spring. I will, however, continue the hunt in "my" thrift store because I love the thrill of finding something beautiful for a small price, but otherwise I'll be looking for accessories (belts and colorful/patterned shoes!) only, and not much of that either. I consider myself on SYC in February and March.
I've tried to mix up a few old faithfuls and some new pieces I find it hard to reach for. I will continue registering what I'm wearing the next couple of months, too, so then I'll see if I actually wear these more from now on or not.
#1: These pants haven't been worn once this season. Why? I definitely like them.
#2: The striped turtleneck dress - can it be layered successfully?
#3: The blush silk blouse with voluminous sleeves. I'm not letting Ramya be right that this is an orphan:) Will I be able to wear it both to parties and casually?
#4: Sometimes changing only the accessories is enough to make a completely different look. I'm definitely wearing this suit a lot already.
#5: I can't make myself getting rid of these old pants. They have a subtle pattern I like, but the color is a little nondescript. I have too many dressy pants. Should I keep them anyway?
#6: More elaborate efforts to layer the new navy dress than round 1. I anticipate more wear come Spring for this one.
#7: The sad truth of my outdoor style. A far cry from the sleek minimalism I so admire on others.
Oh, er, please excuse my funny faces, terrible hair and no makeup. Working from home and mostly only leaving for the gym does that to you:)
Do these outfits correspond with my style goals, in your opinion? I would like to post a selection of "most worn" when the season is over to compare. Thank you for reading and looking - and for being super patient! All and any comments and suggestions are highly welcome as always.
