Thoughts on shopping - YouLookFab Forum

I spent a glorious afternoon with Amy having lunch and wine at a great French bistro then some shopping.
We stopped at Barneys to return the calf hair pumps, but I did order a 1/2 size up. I think they will upgrade my winter opera capsule.
We went to Rack, wear I found that MSGM striped dress. I also bought a coat that was camo with pleather sleeves and lined in a quilted fabric. I think it'll be a great upgrade to my fall commuting look.
I trolled all the shoes of the Rack. I was surprising practical about what I looked at. I think, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but except for the opera and equivalent dressy events I'm over heels. This is a major shift for me.
My only questionable purchase was at All Saints. I adore the bottle green color. Amy said it looked good on me. But now I'm wondering if I have enough free time to wear it to make it worthwhile.

Also I wasn't particularly impressed with the current J Crew offerings. Also I couldn't find any Cameron's at the True Religion store.

Very cute skirt! My only question about it is the length. It looks really short!

The skirt color is gorgeous! But it is very short. Do you wear skirts that short regularly? To me, it seems impractically short. But your lifestyle may be different than mine.

I can see you wearing this, and I am guessing that the model is taller, so length probably won't be an issue?

Love the skirt and its length...you go girl But I think there is some wisdom in thinking if you have time to wear it with all the other great options already in your closet. It is amazing how few pieces are needed to make it almost impossible to wear them all in one season. I say take a look at what you really have versus really want to wear and when the possibilities match free time and see if it fits. This has helped me limit my jacket obsession. I really cannot fit another blazer in without losing the possibility to wear something else.

Oooh - I remember you linked to this skirt earlier, or one in this colour. It's gorgeous. I'm sure it will look great on you and it might turn out to be more wearable than you think.

Loved your other purchases and am glad you had some fun time with Amy! It's good for the soul.

The enforced shopping ban has probably also been good for your style. Helps you refine where you really want to go next.

I keep having to relearn this over and over. Am putting it on a note on my desktop.

THe skirt is amazing. Would it be longer on you ? They always seem so short on those really, long legged models. If it falls lower on you, then yes if you can find the time to wear it.

I think part of the issue is that I haven't fully worked out my new style.
The weather just shifted to much cooler in Seattle today. But I'm not entirely sure what I want to wear, yet.

Opera capsule is easy, dress with sleeves, heels, BAM! done.

Commuting I got mostly sorted.

It's the inbetween stuff that I'm struggling with right now.
