It is often said that one mustn’t buy new shoes before traveling on a trip.
Yet that’s exactly what I did with these white APL Tech Bloom sneakers. I wanted a white pair and walked a few days before leaving in my somewhat-comfortable white leather Converse sneakers. But something told me these wouldn’t be a smart choice for the long haul.
So, off I went to Nordstrom on Sunday afternoon and when I picked up these lightweight APL’s and then read the reviews on the spot, I was sold. I am a 7-1/2 or 8 and bought the 8-1/2 and they are perfect with my Balega Hidden Comfort socks. That’s another thing. I’m not sure if I’m getting more sensitive, but I really like soft socks on the “inside” of my socks and not anything textured or pebbled, but rather smooth. So, I’m always on the lookout for socks like these. When I get home, I’ll have to search for ways to clean my white sneakers, which are still pretty clean. I think Magic Eraser is good for the soles but not the fabric and using a solution of detergent, baking soda and vinegar is likely a recommended cleaner, according to ChatGPT. I highly recommend these featherweight trainers. (Written on the plane.)
