Is there room for this nude oxford in a mostly black centered work wardrobe? ... not that all my clothes are black but it's the main neutral. I also have some navy pants and skirts/dresses of different colors.

I mostly picture myself wearing these with black or navy cropped pants. Would a black shoe be better? I'm particularly thinking of spring and summer here.

Also with regard to this particular shoe... could I wear it with printed tops or is it too flashy and needs to be the star of the show?

The shoe looks pretty neutral to me. I think it could work well with a dark coloured wardrobe, however as a brunette you may find you want to add some light tones elsewhere in your outfit to bookend the shoe. How cropped are the pants you are thinking of?

I too have a mostly black work wardrobe. Yet those shoes are remarkably seductive. I would seriously consider adding them to my wardrobe. However, I am not quite sure how I would wear them either. I am afraid they would end up as a beloved orphan in my wardrobe.

If you decide to get them, I will eagerly watch for WIW and suggestions. I really like Deborah's suggestion of bookending.

absolutely. i also have a mostly black and navy work wardrobe. last summer i bought a similarly colored pair of oxfords, and i got a ton of wear out of them. i loved the way they looked with navy, especially navy cropped and ankle pants.

Deborah, good point about the light tones up top. I have some blouses with light and dark in the patterns, so I may give those a try if I order the shoes just to see how they look. The pants are not hemmed ATM but I plan to follow Angie's guidelines. I have quite short legs for my height and feel self conscious about it, so I was hoping to use the nude oxford to lengthen the leg line.

Gabrielle, they do look great don't they? I am hoping to add a comfy oxford as my others aren't that supportive. There is a black and white version but somehow I'm more drawn to these.

Liz, can I ask for a link/brand? I'm looking for a lighter colored oxford for the spring/summer and these are fab! I don't have any advice for wearing them though, as I have very little black in my wardrobe, sorry.

I was really drawn to those, and tried but have returned. I love the tricolor -- would gave been my way of sneaking in just a touch of white, and they have both gray AND beige/ camel! But they do the Born thing of turning up a bit at the toe, and they were too big through the top of the foot. The laces are very stiff cord, and that adds to the issue, but could be changed. So on me they look a bit like a golf shoe somehow and I needed something a little more refined.
I still think they could work for the right " feet" and outfits , though.

I like them a lot. I could definitely see them with navy.

Unfrumped, it's funny, when I saw the black and white version I thought of golf shoes. But for some reason these don't make me think that.

Sorry to butt in but had to sign in to thank Joy, color perfection! Love the Born oxford, beautiful shoe, can't get white to work for me alas. I think it has something to do with being to high contrast but I'm not sure.

Liz, thanks so much! I agree with Jaileen that the black and white version looks a bit too much like a golf show, but I still think taupe is really nice. I hope they (or a similar pair, like Joy suggested) work for you.
