...what do you layer under your sweaters, other than collared shirts/blouses? Tanks and camis? Or full sleeve t shirts?

I'm asking because I bought a few scoop necked long sleeve ts to wear under sweaters but they aren't layering as smoothly as I like.

My cap sleeved fitted tees (the same ones that I wear by themselves all the time in the summer) or tanks/camis, mostly. Sometimes long sleeved tees and blouses, but only if the sleeves of the sweater are looser. I hate that bunchy feeling on my arms.

I also do everything depending on the weather and where I will be. If I am inside a warm building in the Winter, I definitely like short sleeves or tanks. If I am going to be a bit colder, than I do long sleeve Ts.

Diana, that feeling is why I asked! Layering long sleeves has me constantly fiddling with the bunched up sleeves. I should get some more tanks/cami to layer with.

I layer camis under mine - it's smooths things out but doesn't add any extra bulk or heat.

I layer everything, even including shirt-dresses that I then cover with a half-slip and another skirt. It usually works better if the bottom shirt is very thin - silk works so wonderfully!

Layering immovable outfits like that is much better for unheated locales though...

I layer tanks or even a short sleeved T if it has tight sleeves. Short sleeves work well to eliminate the bunching as long as the sleeves are fitted. Especially if the sweater has loose sleeves. Try a cap sleeve T.

I layer everything *but* collared shirts lol! Mostly long sleeved scoop tees like you mentioned. Perhaps they are not snug enough on the arm if you are having bunching issues?

I layer thermals, turtlenecks and vneck (or scoopneck) LS T's under sweaters so I don't have to wash the sweater too often. And also for warmth. I rarely layer shirts, they never seem to sit "right" for me. I do purchase the layering items very form fitting so they don't cause bulk with my top layer.

COS sells (or at least did for the past couple of years) tissue-thin tees that I like to wear under sweaters in the winter. They don't add bulk, but add a layer between your skin and the sweater. I also like those particular ones because they are quite long and tuck into pants well.

I am finding sweaters are cut very tight through the arms this year. The SA who was helping me yesterday said she had noticed the same thing. It's frustrating. I don't find a sweater (unless it's very thick) over a sleeveless top is warm enough in our winters.

I can never get any sleeves to lay nicely when I layer. So I'll usually just layer cap sleeves or tanks, or if I am in the mood to deal with it a collared shirt. So I guess there is no creativity from me!

I think my t shirts may be a bit loose for layering! Or maybe it's the sweaters? I think I'll stick with cami/tanks/short sleeves for now. For when it gets colder, I have some thermal camis that I can layer

For me, it's either a shirt with a collar or a very fitted, stretchy tank that doesn't show...that's pretty much it.

I agree with using something fitted and non-bulky underneath any sweater, especially fitted sweaters.

I personally don't like layering "invisible" things underneath my sweaters (like a cami, tank or tee) because it always negatively affects the drape; but I'll do a cami if I need the extra warmth. As for visible layers, I like to use any type of blouse but especially button-up styles. That's about it. I'm more of a jacket-over-the-top type of gal :}
