Soooo...what is everyone wearing for Halloween this year?

I haven't heard much about my favorite time of the year, so I wondered if anyone was heading out and dressing up. What is everyone wearing this Halloween?

I look forward to seeing some serious style from everyone!

I might do a zombie-themed group bicycle ride organized by a local shop. Iwill probably wear a sailor suit I already own with zombie makeup and another friend who also has a sailor outfit will do the same. I love Halloween!!

I will be dressing up as a leopard. I will be wearing my leopard print shirt and a pair of black coated skinnies, plus a leopard print wrap that is actually a bathing suit cover-up (the wrap will go over the top). I'll be painting my nails black and wearing a headband that has cat ears on it. Cheap fun!

I don't know! I got very elaborate the last two years and am not sure I have the time or budget this year. I might do something with the night and day sky though (I often do element/nature based costumes). I have a white shirt covered with photographic butterflies and black slouchy pants covered with photographic moths, if I wear them together and add a moon and sun.... and maybe some birds and bats too...

My kids will dress up, but I rarely have occasion. I generally go with normal clothes and either a fun witch hat or a masquerade mask when I accompany them trick-or-treating. I'd love to have a party to go to that would warrant me buying this costume!

My kid and his BFF are the Men in Black. I am not sure if I will dress up but Morpheus from Sandman is a possibility.

It's an 80s theme here. I would really like to go as Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink but I don't have read hair and the time to pull it all together. I think I will work on it for next year. Soooo, I'm going as a Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle because I happened upon turtle colored tights at Goodwill.

Garth from Wayne's World. I have everything and its comfortable to walk around in. The comfort thing is big because we are hitting the West Hollywood carnival this year. I usually skip it but I have a friend that moved here this year from a small town and want to see the spectacle.

I love the Garth idea. Just watched Wayne's World for the first time last week (I know, that's crazy). Also, Sandman is one of my favorite Graphic Novel series of all time. I'm with a lot of you though, I don't think I want to go all out this year, so I am just going to put on a little extra makeup and go as a sugar skull/ day of the dead themed person.
I think I am going to add the Mexican Skull watch from ToyWatch's Halloween collection. I do love an elaborate costume, I just don't have the time for it (I work all weekend). Maybe the little extra umph with the watch will help me pull it off

My hubby and I are invited to a Halloween party this year and them is Cartoon characters. Since my hubby is an avid fan of certain cartoons and comic book characters, we've decided to do the Kim Possible characters, Kim Possible and Dr. Drakken. The show was a Disney channel animated children's tv series about a teenage crime fighter and her nefarious foe.

I think my outfit will be fairly easy (minus the cropped part of the turtle neck). I have the wig, the pants, the boots, and possible the gloves. Not sure about the tool belt style belt. Any ideas?

We rarely dress up. DH is adamantly opposed to costumes

Not even sure what the kids are doing this year but I picked them up some random things from the dollar store to help them out. They want to be characters from their (first person shooter) computer games but I refuse to let them carry weapons....mock or otherwise *eye roll* young teen/pre-teens....

What happened to good old buzz lightyear? Sigh....

Well no Halloween party this year, but my son really wanted to decorate. He's lost two halloweens to Irene/Snow storm and Sandy and last year it rained. He went out but it was a soggy mess so no decor. So this year we are going all out. I found this cool sign from grandinroad.com "The witch is out will return Oct 31st" Of course, we have the skeleton dog, sound activated zombie barking dog, talking spell book, animated pumpkin, led light up ghost, and orange twinkle lights too. But I thought it might kind of cool if I greated the trick or treaters in a witch's costume to play out the sign (a total afterthought since I ordered the costume yesterday and it just arrived today - you have to love amazon overnight halloween shipping free!) Anyway, for the money it's really cute and suprisiingly fits like a dream - even has a working zipper - very impressed. So that's the garb for tomorrow. Speaking of which, gotta run. I have to figure out how to put together the misting cauldron!! Have fun everyone, enjoy and be safe!!

PS Jackie - sad!! I love halloween - okay so it's my b'day which might have just a little something to do with it or it could be my incredible sweet tooth too!! I am probably the only one in the universe with a custom made quilted velvet doublet (usually do pirate/highway man/musketeer etc). No dress up? But my darling husband is not into it either so I get it!!

Happy early birthday Gryffin! My SO's sister is a Halloween baby as well. It is just my favorite holiday. I love to dress up, but am staying home on Halloween night with the SO (special plans, he indulges me) and my workplace is kinda iffy on that sort of thing. Some of the other ladies are dressing up, but with my job duties I can't think of anything last minute that will suit. Your decor sounds super fun--- we have skull beer steins and bat twinkle lights!

DS and his friend are the Men in Black, and the friend's dad is making them neuralizers! So I think the other mom and I are going to attempt to be aliens.

Last year DS was an iPhone. He made an awesome costume and his only complaint was "Mom, people need to stop touching my apps!". This year he wanted to be the upgrade, but we voted against it.

Last minute invite for dinner before kid chaperoning. Costumes required.

I think I'm going as Evening in Paris. I have this cool sheer digital photo print shirt of a Paris park with the Eiffel tower in the background. Trying to figure out to rig up tiny individual twinkling lights to my under layer and of course, adding a beret. Jeans or black pencil skirt on the bottom.

Those are some creative ideas!
I am going as sort of a generic witch with a twist - all black (either slim pants or VC tube skirt and black tunic top) with vintage long orange velvet coat on top. Accessorized with vintage orange plastic 4 layer beads, light up pumpkin necklace and some black jet beads. Orange and black witch hat.
It's sort of an Ode to the Giants winning World Series Witch concept.

I'm going to a party this evening and I don't have a costume. Halloween got imported by the retail industry, but it's not really traditional. So I don't have a costume ready to wear in the closet. And I didn't want to spend money on cheap costume crap. Maybe there will be divine intervention in the one hour I have to get dressed today after work...

I usually just put on my vintage circle skirt that is black lace over orange shiny material and a black turtleneck to go trick or treating with my kids. This year I have a Rainbow dash (my little pony) and Dr. Venkmann (Ghostbuster). I really enjoy making the costumes and am hoping to convince the family to do a theme where we all dress up together. DH is spending the day turning our front yard into a Zombie Apocalypse.
The kids had Black and Orange day today at school so I joined them. I'll post later if I get time.

I didn't dress up this year, but Cosmo Edward did. He greets the kiddos at the door and goes to his grammy's house (she lives up the street) for "Tricks for Treats."

My kids were The Lone Ranger and Tonto (#3), An alien and a monkey (#4), and a bat (#2). I was a bee (#1), and my hubby a beekeeper (he actually is one, so he wore his garb - wish I'd gotten a pic of us together).
