This Florida girl just met Alaskagirl!

So in the mini-est YLF meet-up ever, I just got to meet Una! My son and I met she and her son at Universal City Walk for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe! Even after a long day at the parks Una was as stylish and cool as ever. It was like meeting a long lost friend! We had to fight our sons for conversation, but that ended up making the most entertaining conversation ever - something like travel, Harry Potter, pets, careers, YLF, middle school and zombies all mixed in a blender.

I was so happy to finally meet a YLFer in real life - and thrilled that it was Una! She was so sweet to spend part of her vacation with me, and she was every bit as warm, genuine and fabulous (and of course lovely!) as I knew she would be.

Sorry that the photo of us isn't great. Our photographer was 13....

Eliza - "Sons of YLF" - love it!! Kind of a support group for boys whose moms love fashion?
Joy - I had to revise the conversation - I left out Harry Potter (which rather dominated) and realized that we actually didn't talk about fashion, but we did talk a little about YLF. It really was the most random ping pong conversation you can imagine! It was a hilarious as it sounds.

Sarah is just as I imagined as well - her hair is ethereal and stunning, and she is down to earth, sweet and warm. It truly is like meeting a long lost friend. And like me, she has a son of a certain age that loves to talk to adults, so the two boys happily dominated our conversation. Not that we minded but next time, they get their own table! I don't know she manages to look so cool (in all senses) in this humid heat, but I admire her style even more now.

Now it's back into the fray - I am enjoying three days of carrying a wand as an accessory (Snape's, of course!). Here are some pics for the Harry Potter fans!

Awww, thank you Una! Yes... next time they get their own table. Ethan was so happy - he kept hugging me on the way to the car and telling me how fun it was. He really liked your son and said "we have so much in common... like our parents" (the unsaid part was "our parents riding us about school and bed!") Have fun today!!

I've also had a mini YLF meet-up - twice. I met Ramya in 2014 and Ornella last year. I think it's really fascinating how you meet up with essentially a stranger and it just seems to work out. YLF magic...
