This dress for a pear?

What do you experts think? It would be for work--I work in a fashionable but casual office. And if you think it works, how would you style it for a NYC winter? (boots? heels?)

If it fits, this is a sweet dress! Remember to do the sit-down test with it. Those buttons can gape in an unattractive way, sometimes.

I'd wear a turtleneck underneath with hose and boots. Possibly a cravat style scarf and HUGE long warm coat.

Yes, any button which you don't need to open I would recommend sewing closed. I love Angie's styling suggestion, I also like the idea of wearing a white button down under the dress with the white collar layered over the denim.

Great dress. I like the turtleneck idea so you are not covering up the button detail on the dress. And I would wear fleece lined tights and some taller boots or booties. Something with a slightly casual vibe to tie in the denim of the dress.

Those are all great suggestions for winterizing the dress.

One caveat i would add...try it on with the tights you plan to wear with it, and move around in it.

Some denims will stick to the tights, making it uncomfortable to walk. The skirt here is full enough that it might not be a problem, or you might have to add a slip underneath, in which case you'd also want to ensure the buttons didn't gap to show your slip.

It's pretty! I've been considering that dress but know I just don't reach for dresses very often so have passed. I think the slight A-line and vertical button line would be very flattering on a pear.
