Thank you Joy, Angie, Suntiger, Toronto, notsaf, nemo, kathie, Katerina and Cardiff for your encouragement.
Toronto, yes, this is my son. He's growing and changing fast these days.
Kathie and Katerina, wise question! He did like it when he got it. He wore it for a couple hours this evening, then decided (correctly) that it was a size too big. I asked a couple times if he wanted the exact same thing in a smaller size--I wasn't sure about the color, and I was stunned he'd wear something so scratchy. OMG, what a stupid question, lol! So I exchanged it. Now I can't convince him to wear it, partially because it's too scratchy. I ordered up a dozen long-sleeved black T-shirts so we could find just the right mock T/high crew neck to go under it. None of them are right, of course. Now he claims that the color is the problem.
He has tons of sensitivities to light, sounds, tastes, and fabrics. All of his clothing is knit. He only wears sweatpants and shorts (though he could wear this with the one pair of jeans he owns--black jeans that his girlfriend for a month last year bought with him) and T-shirts, cotton sweaters, and sweatshirts from H&M and Hollister. This sweater is a big departure in color, fabric, and being from Uniqlo. (Otherwise he only has socks and undershirts from there). Ordinarily, I wouldn't push him into something, but dammit, he asked for the sweater, and then asked for it again.
