as i start thinking about goals for 2018, i keep coming back to a couple of things i bought this year that became workhorse....i'm writing this post to try to understand what became a workhorse so that i can try to buy more of them next year....
back in Jan i bought this MZ Wallace backpack for a trip to Spain. i had/have gear packs that i could have used, but this "fashion" pack spoke to me...and now almost a year later, i can say that i've used it almost everyday since....
in early spring i bougth the navy blue slip on sneakers, and even before my office dress code changed to casual business, this were in heavy weekend rotation. with the change in dress code i added the Embroidered Sneaker, which also became instant workhorses.
in Oct i bought the cling sock boots, and have worn them at least once a week since....and brought back out a similiar knee high pair i've had for 10 years....
then a couple weeks ago, after much hemming and hawing with myself, i bought this jcrew boiled wool coat...and instantly wondered by i hadn't bought it was soon as i saw it.....it's perfect for my transitional seasons, and for the winter days where the temps are 45F(ish). i have a transitional coat that's about 8 or 9 years old, it's one of those items that i wondered why i bought it, took me 2 years to figure out, then wondered why i hadn't bought something like it earlier.

so, if you are still with me....writing this has given me insight....all of these items are step ups or updates of items i already know or love..items that i had specific need and/or requirement for....
so for 2018 how do i keep myself focused on the specific and not get my head turned by everything else?
