I know most of you are looking forward to Spring Summer but I thought some of you might enjoy this preview of the Cue Autumn Winter campaign. Cue is an Australian high street brand. It is spendy, for high street, but the designs are interesting and it's ethically made.

It has a lot of the trends Angie mentioned. Floral, waist definition, high rises, ruffles, flounces, cropped pants, colour. I also spy some white boots, Angie And I am loving the velvet and brocade.

Love this floral dress. And this floral velvet jacket. Swooning!

I am very excited about Autumn Winter.

I can see you in those pieces Brooklyn, in particular the jacket. Your floral boots will work brilliantly!!

I saw the attached photo in our newspaper this weekend so the maximal ism trend is wide spread.

I would like to add a patterned skirt, and aside from this I think scarves and hosiery will be a good way to add more for me. I need to balance maximalism with my love of clean lines. I am sure there is a way.

Ooh, I enjoyed that. I have to think, I realise. Preparing for an SF summer is, well, the same as preparing for fall, lol. So easy to forget and get all caught up in cute sundresses. The hot weather doesn't arrive until autumn.

I do really have to think. My summer capsule isn't right anymore, since moving to a new microclimate last Jan.

I am wondering if Angie's Spring-Summer forecast will also be true for Autumn-Winter here. It looks like maximalism is a good bet.

Thanks Dottie! I wasn't actually thinking of buying anything (yet! ha ha!) but I just love the vibe of the pieces. The dress would probably be too short for me and it's not really my colour, but I would love to see more like it. It's quite different from what we have seen in Australia for the last few years. It's all been pretty black, white and grey and very minimalist. These pieces are so sumptuous!
Sally, I love the photo. I have a velvet jacket in a similar style to what they are wearing that I saved. It's from the late 90s I think. I knew I was right to keep it! A patterned skirt would be great for you. I bought this patterned skirt from Yoox. It's brocade, floral, shiny and puffy. 2 or 3 years ago I would have said no way, that's not my style. Now, I can't wait to wear it. (But I will probably tone it down a little with a plain black top!)
Lisa, I never thought I would be attracted to white boots, pre-Angie. I have big feet and struggle enough with the idea of ankle boots. But I am totally on board with the look.
Rachy, I often wonder why we make a distinction between Autumn and Spring for clothing. Weather-wise, they are pretty similar. But I think a lot of people feel the need to lighten up (in Spring) after winter. And that's not true of Autumn.
Joy, I am liking the trends, so I hope that they are here to stay for a while.

JAileen: Don't tempt me! I am not thinking about the dress - I just like the idea of it. Too short for me and not my colour. Love it though and I may try to imitate the idea. The jacket I love but it's spendy and I would worry about longevity of the style. It's not available yet, so it's easy to avoid temptation (for now)

Don't you have velvet and/or floral boots? That may be why the jacket seems so you. But I totally get it. When I see super expensive things I reject them out of hand.

Yes, J. I have these red floral boots. So I could do a matchy matchy thing as well I am a sucker for floral lately. And always have been for velvet. So you are spot on.

I didn't know Cue was ethically made:). I like there design but find them pricey. I will have to take another look and check out the quality of their items. I'd like to know more about the garments that are not Aussie made.

Hey Deborah! Yes, they are pricey. And they only seem to do workwear. But they don't seem to be constantly discounting like a lot of retailers so that might mean that they are doing OK. I don't actually know of course. But it does seem like a lot of Aussie retailers are struggling.

I love that jacket for you Brooklyn! It is exciting to see the new stock come into the shops again. Cue really has gone maximal with this collection. I also loved how they had the twins in their campaign too, such naturally beautiful girls.

Oooh, that floral velvet jacket!
Cooler weather seems so far away. I do NOT need any jackets, jumpers, sweaters, coats etc etc. I think I'll borrow Sally's idea of adding pattern and texture in scarves, instead.

Overall I like Cue and sister brand Veronika Maine and used to wear VM quite a bit. Deborah I didn't find they wore well over time... knits wou,d pill, soft fabrics would get worn and shiny round edges and seams. Maybe they have got better over ti me as they are gorgeous.
Brooklyn you will look smashing in theae. Your floral boots are cute too.

Hey boot twin. That's a gorgeous jacket. I'm looking forward to some cooler, aka boot weather too. The only things I'm looking for are a velvet jacket or coat & some jeans. I have cropped pants & jeans & I'm not wearing any of my other bottoms at the moment so we will see. I would love to see some soft mustard pieces too.

Jenanded. That's disappointing. I have a few VM pieces and haven't had any problems. But they are all workwear items, and they tend to get an easy life compared to my casual wear. I haven't paid much attention to Cue until recently because I thought they skewed too young for me. But I think this new collection is really fabulous.

Helen, maybe you could get a short sleeve sweater or a patterned skirt in Autumn Winter colours. Or something metallic?
Angie, thanks! Cream or ivory boots are on my radar. I really like the style of the ones shown in this collection, with the contrast gusset. I think they are similar to a pair of yours. You set the trend!
