One of the interesting things Angie does is to take an item that people think they can't wear and then explain how to style it so they can. This morning she explained how those of us with thicker ankles or shorter legs can wear ankle strap footwear. Recently she got a whole group of us wearing belts again.
I know I've had a list of things I thought I couldn't wear: warm colors, muted colors, light colors on top, defined waistlines, voluminous anything, puffed sleeves, crew necks, button-up shirts, pockets or welts on jackets or shirts, flared or gathered skirts. Just for starters. But now I've tried all of these and felt great in the majority of them.
Of course there are some looks that are just not comfortable or preferred. And other looks that will feel iconically "me" that we don't want to give up ever. But part of my style journey has involved trying new things, playing around, and realizing that the list of things I absolutely can't wear is a lot shorter than I had imagined.
What do you wear now that you thought you couldn't? And what items are still on your "can't wear" list?
